Alongside some selective areas around the globe, WWE has a strong fan base in India. With the market growing day by day it is natural that WWE wants to extend it even more in the subcontinent. WWE is looking to cater to more of their fans in the upcoming days. In the process of the same, WWE has sent Alberto Del Rio last week to promote the company more in India.

Del Rio visited Kolkata and Bengaluru to have a number of meet-and-greet sessions with the fans and media. One of such interview was taken by the International Business Times where the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion declared that WWE will return to India this year in the month of September.

The Mexican superstars said, “India is one of the most important markets for the WWE and we want to make the already existing fanbase grow further. Several people from our company have come in the past and we have plans to come again in September too. We just want to take wrestling to anywhere in the world where we feel it can be properly marketed and India is one of those countries.”

WWE has decided to finally put the end of 13 years long wait as they headed towards India this past January. WWE live event was hosted on 15th and 16th January at the Indira Gandhi Indoor stadium in Delhi. The two shows saw huge success featuring the then WWE champion Roman Reigns, Dolph Ziggler, Ryback, The Wyatt Family, Big Show, Kane, The Usos, Charlotte, Summer Rae etc. The event also saw the debut of two Indian wrestlers in WWE i.e. Kishan Raftaar and Lovepreet Sangha.

Though Del Rio has given the breaking news of WWE visiting India, once again, this year, no official confirmation was made on the part of WWE, as of now.
