The anticipation was pretty high from last night’s WWE Raw with Elimination Chamber coming ahead. A huge main event match was confirmed to take place between two former bitter rivals to determine the fourth member of the Chamber match with the expectation of the announcements for the women’s division match. Here are the results from the show took place from the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa.
WWE Raw opened up this week with two promo segments. The first one featured Bray Wyatt who claimed to topple the challenge of his old nemesis, Roman Reigns. The latter one, on the other hand, was seen determined to go into the Suplex City conquering the Elimination Chamber. The main event of the night kicked off the show in a big way.
Woken Matt Hardy was seen watching the match elsewhere in the backstage area. Wyatt took early control of the matchup by sending Reigns face-first into the steel steps. He later connected with the Sister Abigail but Reigns kicked out.
Later, the Big Dog hit the spear on Wyatt to pick up the win. After the match, Hardy showed up to attack Wyatt with a Twist of Fate.
The Miz was out to compete in a qualifying match at Elimination Chamber against Apollo Crews. Before the match, he cut a strong promo on how he plans to win the Universal Championship at Wrestlemania. After the promo segment, a short matchup took place that saw Crews coming up short. Miz hit with the skull crushing finale to become victorious.
Kurt Angle made an announcement regarding the Women’s Elimination Chamber matchup. The five challengers for the women’s championship were declared on the show who are Sasha Banks, Bayley, Sonya Deville, Mandy Rose and Mickie James. Alexa Bliss, the champion was irate with Kurt Angle’s announcement and confronted him in the ring to end the segment having a conversation.
Once this segment was over, Bayley took on Asuka in a singles contest. This match came up as the fallout from last week where Sasha Banks faced Asuka to come up losing. Before the beginning, Sasha and Bayley had a heated conversation hinting a rivalry. Despite the valiant efforts of the Hugger, the Empress of Tomorrow remained undefeated by making Bayley tap out to the arm-bar submission lock.
The Raw tag team championships were also on the line which was a rematch from Royal Rumble. Jason Jordan was incompetent, and hence Roman Reigns teamed up with Seth Rollins. In the middle of the match, Jordan interfered to create distraction after which The Bar walked out of the contest to make it disqualified.
Finn Balor and Karl Anderson defeated The Revival in a tag team contest with the help of Coup De Grace. Nia Jax pinned a local talent in quick time to send a strong message to the female locker room.
From the Cruiserweight Division, Alexander and Mustafa Ali teamed up to defeat Tony Nese and Drew Gulak. In a singles contest, Mickie James faced Sonya Deville and defeated her despite distractions from Alexa Bliss.
In the second main event of the night, a triple threat matchup took place among Elias, Braun Strowman and John Cena with the winner getting to come out last inside the Elimination Chamber match. Strowman planted Cena with a running powerslam, but Elias came from the back and shoved him off the ring and picked up the pinfall win. Strowman destroyed both Cena and Elias after the match to end the night.
