WWE Raw turned upside down at the beginning of 2022, as the brand now has a new WWE Champion on their side and it’s none other than Brock Lesnar. The Beast is easily back at the top of the mountain as he captured the WWE Championship for the sixth occasion of his career.

Heading into the first episode of WWE Raw of 2022, the question is how this happening will be affecting the red brand. Becky Lynch is still the champion from the women’s side who may start a new rivalry. Meanwhile, the feud between Edge and The Miz is likely to be far from over as the latter will address the happenings from Day 1 on tonight’s episode slated from the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina.

Liv Morgan Should Have Won At WWE Day 1, Per Nikki Bella

Lashley sends Lesnar crashing through barricade: WWE Day 1 2022 (WWE Network Exclusive)

The Beast was originally feuding with Roman Reigns over the Universal Championship on SmackDown for months. However, a COVID-19 positive test just hours before the PPV forced Reigns to miss the show. This resulted in WWE putting Lesnar in the WWE Championship match at the Day 1 pay-per-view, making it a Fatal-5-Way.

Lesnar then pinned Big E to win the match and go back to the top of the mountain on WWE Raw and thereby start the New Year with a bang. Lesnar ended the PPV sharing a staredown with Lashley and thereby hinting that this dream bout could be in-store.

Lashley was fully protected in the title match who speared Lesnar twice during this match and even punished him with the Hurt Lock. Big E was the one to break things up but he was ultimately hit with an F5 for the loss. Going by the reports of Wrestling Observer, Lashley should be the first in line for the WWE Title. In the meantime, E will also be coming after his lost WWE title to possibly begin a three-way feud.

Interesting Fact From Brock Lesnar Winning WWE Title At Day 1 PPV

As seen at Day 1 pay-per-view, Becky Lynch defeated Liv Morgan to retain WWE RAW Women’s Championship. The challenger pulled off all she could in her power to dethrone the reigning champion but a slight mistake ruined the day for her. The Ob-Livion was countered with the Man-Handle Slam as Becky went on to retain her belt.

Since fans are heavily backing up Liv Morgan to become the next champion, the popular belief is that thinking that WWE could finally give her a big moment and book her to win the RAW Women’s Title at WrestleMania 38. That’s a long shot for now. Becky scored a clean pin-fall win over Liv on Day 1 and this should remove Liv from the title picture, for now.

WWE Raw Preview (03/01/22): Miz vs. Edge to continue

At the inaugural Day 1 pay-per-view, The Miz took on WWE Hall of Famer Edge in a singles contest. Maryse was at ringside for the bout as she was distracting Edge. At a point, Maryse slapped Edge in the face after which Edge’s wife, Beth Phoenix made her much-anticipated return (for weeks she was supposed to appear on WWE Raw) and then started chasing Maryse around the ring.

As Maryse retreated, Phoenix had some conversation with Miz which distracted him from the match. This allowed Edge to finish Miz off with a Spear for the pin to win. Clearly, this gives the opportunity for Miz to complain about how Phoenix was the reason behind his loss at the hands of the Rated-R Superstar.

Now, WWE is advertising that both Miz and Maryse will be there on WWE Raw to continue with the fallouts of the bygone match. Chances high that the ongoing will eventually produce a mixed tag team match against Edge and Phoenix, down the road.
