The main event builds for Summerslam 2022 will continue in full force when the challenger for the Undisputed WWE Title arrives on WWE Raw. Brock Lesnar is being promoted to be the headliner of this special edition where we will also see the United States Open Challenge. Plus, Mr. Money in the Bank will be in action on the show that takes place at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas.
During the June 17 episode of WWE SmackDown, Brock Lesnar made his return to WWE programming for the first time since Wrestlemania 38 Night Two. He proceeded to attack Roman Reigns following the latter’s successful Undisputed WWE Universal Championship defense against Riddle. Using three back-to-back F5s, Lesnar made The Bloodline, his victim.
Following his ruthless actions, WWE announced that Reigns will defend his titles against Lesnar in a Last Man Standing match in the main event of the 2022 SummerSlam premium live event. To promote that upcoming match, The Beast will be back on WWE Raw which marks a rare appearance for him on the red brand.
Prior to this, Lesnar appeared on WWE Raw back in March. Afterward on April 3rd, Reigns defeated Lesnar in the main event of night two of WrestleMania 38 this past April. Via that win, Reigns unified both the Universal Title and WWE Title and he’s since been the champion.
Over on this week’s Smackdown, Reigns came out with The Bloodline to a huge pop. In a promo session, Paul Heyman reminded that Reigns is The G.O.A.T. who has been the champion for almost 700 days. He also claimed that at Summerslam 2022, he will compete to the best of his ability and will still retain both the Heavyweight Titles by defeating Lesnar.
