This week’s WWE Raw marks the beginning of Summerslam 2021 storylines by gathering fallouts from Money in the Bank. The era of the All-Mighty continues on the show while Charlotte Flair begins her reign on the red brand for a sixth occasion. Also, John Cena will be back on board on the show he used to run after a long time as Raw airs from the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.
John Cena made the much-anticipated WWE return at this year’s Money in the Bank. He confronted Roman Reigns after the latter’s successful title defense over Hall of Famer Edge at the bygone PPV event. Cena delivered his “you can’t see me” taunt in Reigns’ face while Money in the Bank went off the air with Cena facing the crowd from the turnbuckles as The Tribal Chief watched from behind.
WWE Money In The Bank 2021: Two New Champions Crowned
Going by the happening. It’s almost certain that John Cena will now challenge Reigns for the title at SummerSlam on August 21 in Las Vegas, Nevada. But before he heads toward Smackdown, WWE Raw will bring him back home, tonight. As per the announcement by the Cenation Leader himself, he will kick off the first Raw with the fans since the pandemic which is surely going to be an attraction for the audience.
WWE Raw Preview (19/07/21): Big return imminent?
WWE Champion Bobby Lashley man-handled Kofi Kingston with the Hurt Lock to retain his title at Money in the Bank with authority. As the All-Mighty Era continues, the question remains who could be the next name to challenge him for the title at Summerslam 2021. Per the recent reports from reliable sources, Goldberg is returning to face him in a title match on August 21st. That exciting return could go down tonight on WWE Raw from Dallas.
In the Women’s Title picture, Charlotte Flair defeated Rhea Ripley to become the new champion from WWE Raw at Money in the Bank 2021 pay-per-view. The match ended after Flair trapped Ripley’s leg between the ring post and the steel steps to injure them. She then applied the Figure Four and the Figure Eight submission, forcing Ripley to tap out for the finish.
That being said, Charlotte Flair has begun her 5th reign with the WWE Raw Women’s Title while Ripley won the strap back on April 11 during Night Two of WrestleMania 37, by defeating Asuka. The question remains whether WWE will continue this feud through Summerslam of this year or bring back someone like Becky Lynch to give some freshness to the storyline.
Speaking of this, we should mention that Nikki Cross ASH has become the 2021 Women’s Money in the Bank ladder-match winner. Cross ran in with all the remaining superstars brawling on top of ladders and climbed up a ladder to unhook the briefcase to get the win. With a championship contract by her side, Cross is almost guaranteed to become a new champion, down the road. That being said, we expect to hear from her when this week’s WWE Raw airs from Dallas.
