When it comes to teasing the WWE Universe, perhaps no one does it better than Kelly Kelly over on her Instagram account. She is a certified Instagrammer who has made it a tradition of posting bikini or lingerie photos to keep herMore
Approaching to Extreme Rules PPV event, WWE Raw will present a loaded episode, this week with the headliner being a title match. Bobby Lashley will defend the WWE Title against Randy Orton in a singles contest. The US title will also be on the line when Damian Priest throws an Open Challenge to the roster. Rhea Ripley will face a women’s tag team champion while Charlotte Flair will also be in action on the show set from the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts.
WWE Champion Bobby Lashley will defend against one-half of WWE RAW Tag Team Champions, Randy Orton, tonight. As announced by WWE, last week, RAW was supposed to feature Orton and Riddle defending their tag titles against Lashley and MVP while Orton vs. Lashley for the WWE Title was also announced for the Extreme Rules pay-per-view on September 26.
But then a commercial aired during the bygone episode of SmackDown where Orton vs. Lashley was advertised for WWE RAW. Then WWE has officially announced the WWE Title match on the official website as well as on social media profiles. The match has since been removed from the Extreme Rules card while the PPV graphic remains the same around this match.
WWE issued the following storyline explanation for preponing this mega encounter,
“They don’t want to wait for WWE Extreme Rules. Bobby Lashley will defend his WWE Championship against Randy Orton this Monday on Raw! Raw Tag Team Champion Orton will look to add another title to his collection as he tries to capture his 15th World Championship, while The All-Mighty is out for some serious payback after falling victim to an RKO two weeks in a row. Who will emerge as WWE Champion? Find out on Raw, live this Monday at 8/7 C on USA Network!”
It’s very much possible that Orton vs. Lashley will go down on Raw while WWE will schedule the rematch between the two with an added stipulation at Extreme Rules.
Another title defense has been announced for WWE RAW as United States Champion Damian Priest will host an Open Challenge. This will happen before he defends against Sheamus at Extreme Rules on September 26. Last week, Sheamus earned a clean pinfall victory over Drew McIntyre to become the new number-one contender for the mid-card title.
WWE Raw Preview (13/09/21): Rhea Ripley vs. Natalya
WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Natalya vs. Rhea Ripley has also been confirmed for tonight in a singles contest. Last week, the champions, Natalya and Tamina Snuka returned to action against the team of Ripley and Nikki ASH in a non-title match. The newly formed team on Raw picked up the win to become the new number-one contenders for the tag team titles.
WWE RAW Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair will also be in action against Shayna Baszler in a singles contest. Last week, Flair retained her title against Baszler’s tag team partner Nia Jax after Baszler provided Jax with a shocking distraction. This seemingly has set up a future feud between Jax and Baszler while Flair is set to put her title on the line at Extreme Rules against Alexa Bliss.
A huge tag team action will go down on WWE Raw when The New Day – Kofi Kingston and Xavier Wood team up with Mansoor and Mustafa Ali against the team of AJ Styles, Omos, T-BAR, and MACE. All these four teams were involved in a tag team turmoil matchup to earn an opportunity to the tag team titles. Lashley and MVP won that bout to get a shot at the titles.
AJ Lee hasn’t been seen much in public since she announced retirement from WWE in-ring competition. Now her husband, CM Punk is back in professional wrestling as he joined Tony Khan’s All Elite Wrestling, last month, creating a lot of buzz among the fans. This left the fans also wondering whether this could mark an end to the hiatus that AJ has been in over the past few years. Apparently, that may not be happening.
The 34-year-old AJ Lee has been away from WWE since retiring in 2015 who also noted in her memoir that she decided to step back from competition due to permanent damage to her cervical spine and owing to the fact that she had fulfilled her goals in professional wrestling. She also mentioned how she got caught in the middle of the issues between Punk and WWE in 2014 since the latter made his exit from the company.
Now, Punk recently spoke with Joseph Staszewski of The New York Post to promote his returning match against Darby Allin at AEW All Out pay-per-view. As noted, his return to the business led to speculation on AJ Lee possibly joining him in the AEW promotion. He was asked about the rumors, and whether AJ herself is interested to make a comeback.
AJ Lee has a problem with her neck
The former Straight Edge Leader offered a negative response while mentioning that the neck injury would never allow AJ Lee to come back to professional wrestling,
“I just want to say, no,” Punk said. “Just because [of] her neck. The reason she stopped wrestling is because of her neck. She’s got a bad neck, you know. I wouldn’t want her to jeopardize [her] health and neither would she, so we’ll put an end to that rumor right now.”
AJ Lee has not wrestled since March 30, 2015, RAW, where she teamed with Naomi and Paige for a six-woman tag team win over WWE Hall of Famers The Bella Twins and current WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Natalya. This was the night after Wrestlemania 31 where she and Paige also defeated The Bellas in a tag team match.
AJ Lee then left WWE as a three-time Divas Champion and a three-time Slammy Award winner. She also held the FCW Divas Title once while being in developmental who was also the Queen of FCW on one occasion. Since then she has focused on writing projects like her own memoir and advocacy work.
WWE wanted to get Gable Steveson signed for a long time. After the Olympic Gold Medal win in Tokyo, Vince McMahon literally pulled out all the stops to sign him, and now the deal is official. As reported earlier, he has put his signature to the paper to become a WWE Superstar. While he won’t join WWE right away, it will eventually happen. For now, he still has some unfinished business at the University of Minnesota.
Per WWE’s announcement, Gable Steveson has signed a unique contract with the company, their first-ever NCAA NIL (name, image, likeness) deal. It was noted that while he remains signed to the exclusive agreement with the WWE, he will be defending his NCAA title for the University of Minnesota.
In an update, ESPN’s Mike Coppinger reported that Gable Steveson’s deal is a multi-year contract with the WWE, but it’s not clear on the exact length of the signing. The deal will allow Gable to attend the University of Minnesota for his senior year, and defend the Division I national championship at heavyweight.
Gable Steveson to start training with the WWE
WWE will make sure that Gable Steveson gets a remote training facility near the University of Minnesota campus, where he will learn the finer points of in-ring work with WWE coaches. There is no word on which coaches will be appointed to train him in the near future.
But sooner some veteran names are likely to join the 21-year-old athlete. At the same time, he can also access the WWE Performance Center training facility available in Orlando, Florida where his brother Bobby Steveson is already training with the latest class of PC trainees.
Gable Steveson’s multi-year talent contract with WWE will officially begin once he graduates from college in May. He will be a full-time performer with WWE from then onwards but he is also expected to appear on WWE TV during the school year. This indicates we might see him on WWE NXT TV sooner than later, but that has not been confirmed.
As seen earlier, Gable Steveson appeared at ringside for NXT “Takeover: Stand and Deliver” during WrestleMania 37 weekend back in April and was then honored at SummerSlam 2021 with fellow Olympic gold medalist wrestler Tamyra Mensah-Stock for his Olympics accomplishment. It’s yet to be seen when he will return to WWE TV as a contracted talent.
Charlotte Flair is undoubtedly one of the marquee superstars that WWE has to offer on their roster without whom a bigger PPV event remains incomplete. The highly decorated superstar was one of three first women alongside Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch to main-event WrestleMania in 2019, but she, unfortunately, had to sit out WrestleMania 37.
Leading to the show, Charlotte Flair challenged Asuka for the Raw Women’s Championship to set up a Wrestlemania 34 rematch. But then her fiancée Andrade was released from the WWE contract and went on to reveal that she was pulled from the show because WWE doctors mistakenly thought that she was pregnant.
At the same time, it was also announced that she tested positive for COVID-19. During a prior interaction with New York Post, Charlotte Flair already mentioned that WWE creative didn’t want to wait for her so that she can be okay after recovering from the virus, and hence they decided to go with Rhea Ripley and Asuka.
Charlotte Flair was happy for Banks and Belair
Now, The Queen spoke to Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso about her being left out of WrestleMania 37. She admitted that she was devastated and it was really tough for her to miss The Show of Shows. At the same time, Charlotte Flair was happy for Sasha Banks, Rhea Ripley, and Bianca Belair for their opportunities.
“I was devastated. I did not take that easy. Missing WrestleMania was hard… As much as it hurt to miss WrestleMania, it was amazing to watch Sasha and see her succeed. Seeing her come off Mandalorian and be in the main event, that was amazing. And Bianca has that special ‘It’ factor. She needs to keep taking that and run with it. Her story, and what she embodies, it’s incredible. So I was happy for both Sasha and Bianca.”
The absence from Charlotte Flair from Wrestlemania 37 didn’t hamper her career, much as she would be back on Raw, the night after that grand event. She would then go on to win the Raw Women’s Championship from Rhea Ripley at Money in the Bank and then again at Summerslam taking her title win count to 12.
WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon goes by unique work ethic who also has a set of banned words not to be used on WWE programming. WWE always wants to be very much careful about what is said on their television shows and every superstar has to follow the rule, strictly. The list has always been there and now it has now been updated.
Wrestling Observer provided an update on the list of banned words in WWE. These words were reportedly given to their talent, “who were promoting WrestleMania in Tampa, Florida.” The list was extended to hardcore profanities as well, but one can also found some interesting additions like “Mofos” and “wifebeater.”
Check out the full set of banned words in WWE
“Blood, choke, belt, strap, diva, head shot, trauma, kayfabe, Mofos, house show, DQ, The Anti-Diva, spinal injuries, victim, violence, violent, wrestling, wrestlers, WWF, wifebeater, curb stomp, phrases including the word “push” and “being over,” babyface, heel, job, jobber, card, strangle, kill and murder”
WWE Universe may find some of these banned words interesting enough. It’s been noted that Superstars can talk about the card for a show, but they aren’t allowed to say the word “card.” It should also be noted that “spinal injuries” and “violence” are present on the list, as well. Seth Rollins’ Curb Stomp was once banned from WWE TV but this is back for usage in matches. But interestingly, it has still found its way to the words prohibited by Vince McMahon.
The Boss Vince McMahon has his own reasons to ban things this list of banned words is something that he doesn’t want to be spoken on WWE television. Each word has its own background due to which he doesn’t want those to be pronounced on the product. There’s nothing bad about “wrestling” but Vince McMahon has prohibited it, perhaps due to WWE’s PG era.
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer previously discussed some of WWE’s banned words. He also shared a funny story about the banned word “belt” and it didn’t make any sense,
“Leveque [Triple H] was watching boxing and they talk about belts, you know, and it’s kinda like he realized that it’s not a freaking Southern Wrestling term, it’s a freaking sports term, but it doesn’t matter because the word belt has been banned for a long time, sometimes guys sneak it in. Some days they ok it, but some days it isn’t.” (transcription by Ringside News)
Kelly Kelly hasn’t been with the WWE in a full-time role for the past nine years. She is often touted to be perhaps the most beautiful female superstar to have ever stepped into a WWE ring. From that perspective, she is missed by her global fanbase given that she has announced retirement at an age of just 25.
Kelly Kelly was released from her WWE contract in the year 2012, but her allegiance with Vince McMahon’s company remains intact. The pro wrestling world has become different since that departure where she could definitely expect newer opportunities from outside the WWE. That might could have been a decision down the line for the former Divas Champion but for now, she remains contended by considering WWE as her home.
That being said, Kelly Kelly is extremely thankful for her time in the WWE which gave her the initial fame she required. On her latest Instagram post, the same thought was reflected. She posed in a sleeveless white dress in those snaps while giving valuable advice to her followers in the WWE Universe and beyond, “Remember the day you prayed for the things you have now.”
Ashley Peterson asked the ex WWE Superstar, “Who makes those shoes, Barbie?! So cute!!” In reply the diva, real-name Barbie Blank noted the following, “thanks boo!!! Here you go @simmishoes.”
Kelly kelly recently suffered a miscarriage
It appears that Kelly Kelly has overcome a nightmare experience that happened in recent times. Just a few weeks ago she informed via her Instagram story about her first pregnancy,
“Me and joe were in our first trimester. When we got the news we were pregnant it was the happiest moment of our lives, we’ve been wanting this for so long to be parents. It seemed like all of our prayers had been answered. It was our time now for our baby and as days went by we started talking about names telling our immediate family and friends we were pregnant!”
Unfortunately, Kelly Kelly lost that child due to some unknown reasons and went through some downtime, afterward. But it appears that she has got past that tough phase in life as she is coming up with usual hot posts on Instagram, every now and then.
Tenille Dashwood is better known as Emma for the WWE Universe who was underutilized in the company due to a lack of creative plans around her. A number of unprecedented incidents appeared to be the bar for elevating her career while she herself was focused on outside projects. This could have left the impression that she wasn’t really interested in making a name as a huge WWE Superstar.
Speaking of this, we should mention that Tenille Dashwood is a self-proclaimed wanderer who always loves to explore different parts of the world. That nag of her has been intact since the beginning days in wrestling while she has now received her boyfriend to be her travel guide and partner. The two keep on visiting beautiful places all the time, given their Instagram posts and stories.
In the latest, Tenille Dashwood posted a bikini shot on Instagram from an unknown beach as she seemed extremely happy with her current position in life. Plus, she expressed her joy in traveling with the below caption, “Whatever you decide to do, make sure it makes you happy!” Former WWE superstars Summer Rae, Peyton Royce, and more commented on the shot.
Tenille Dashwood is currently under contract with IMPACT
In another separate photo, Tenille Dashwood was found lying, perhaps on that same beach in floral bikini attire. She also shared her experience from that outing via the following caption,
“What an adventure this year has been! I’ve been in the mountains hiking without much service for days and WOW I am so sore! Almost wish I was back here at @casasandra relaxing on the beach… But wait till you see these photos and videos 😍”
From the professional wrestling side, Tenille Dashwood is under contract with the Impact Wrestling promotion who performed at the bygone Slammiversary PPV in July. On that night, she teamed up with Brian Myers to take on the team of Matt Cordona (Tenille’s ex-boyfriend) and Chelsea Green (Cordona’s fiancée).
During a conversation with Renee Paquette on Oral Sessions Podcast, Cardona revealed he was the one that pitched the tag team match against his former girlfriend. He got also surprised that everyone worked so well in that match.
Doudrop is now a married woman. The former WWE NXT UK Superstar star took to Twitter this morning to announce she had gotten married to her fiancée. The two were apparently engaged for the past couple of years. Not much details were shared regarding her partner.
The couple got engaged in November of 2019, as revealed by Doudrop over social media. In addition to photos of herself and her partner, she also dropped pictures of her being walked down the aisle, one with the married couple and the maid of honor, and one of the couple’s dogs.
Earlier this year, she would join the RAW band and adopt a new persona, aligning herself with the recently returned WWE star Eva Marie. The two would go on to form an unlikely ally until SummerSlam, where Eva was blasted for her actions by her partner. The two have been feuding since then.
Doudrop makes regular appearances on WWE Raw
Doudrop’s most recent WWE appearance happened on this week’s episode of Main Event, where she defeated Dana Brooke. Brooke hit a modified neck-breaker on Doudrop for a two-count. Brooke went for a Swanton Bomb off the top turnbuckle but got rolled out of the way. She was then planted by a Running Splash on Brooke for the pinfall win.
Originated from in Ayrshire, Scotland, Doudrop began her career under the name Viper, working for promotions such as Pro Wrestling EVE, ICW, and the World of Sport revival around the United Kingdom. She would also make appearances for promotions in Japan with Stardom from 2016-2018. Then she would be signed with WWE in 2019 and compete on the NXT UK brand under the name of Piper Niven.
After appearing on Raw, Niven was not identified by the announcers, and it’s believed that she would be given a new ring name. As expected, Eva Marie introduced her with the name of Doudrop which wasn’t initially liked by her. But now she has become familiar with the name and perhaps the name will be retained despite the split with Eva.
It should be mentioned that Doudrop has challenged Eva Marie to a rematch on this coming episode of Monday Night Raw from the TD Garden in Boston. The two previously squared off in a match, two weeks ago but the referee declared Eva incompetent after a pre-match attack by the former NXT UK star.
WWE made their return to Madison Square Garden with this week’s Super Smackdown edition from New York City. Despite a number of segments’ cancellations from the event, it was a successful outing with the likes of The Demon King or Brock Lesnar making their way back to WWE’s weekly programming. Edge vs. Seth Rollins also featured in this episode dedicated to the 9/11 incident victims.
Now, WWE will again return to Madison Square Garden in NY for the annual post-Christmas live event on Sunday, December 26. This has been a tradition for the company for the past few years. But it did not take place in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, a Ticketmaster pre-sale has begun late last night with the “HOLIDAY” pre-sale code to sell out the tickets of the upcoming show.
WWE reportedly set a record with Super SmackDown on FOX taping from Madison Square Garden. It appears that the MSG TV taping produced the highest-grossing blue brand event of all-time in WWE’s history, according to Ariel Helwani.
“Last night’s WWE Smackdown at MSG produced the highest grossest Smackdown gate of all time, per sources. Not just in NY. Of any city ever for any SD. (Smackdown has been around for 20 years.),” the tweet from the source noted.
WWE hosted a sold-out Madison Square Garden event
During the commentary, Smackdown announcer Michael Cole announced a sold-out crowd of 14,425 fans in attendance for last night’s Madison Square Garden return. It was noted by WrestleTix that the attendance was likely closer to 13,000, and the announced number wasn’t accurate. WWE often boosts up their announced attendance numbers.
Edge was one of the headliners of the Madison Square Garden event as she competed against Seth Rollins. He was apparently very emotional for his first match at the venue after a decade. There was a moment during the commercial break, following Edge’s entrance, where he got down on his knees, then kissed the mat to let her emotions out. This perhaps marked the final time that he performed at this historic venue.
As of now, there’s no word on what WWE has planned for Edge and Rollins after Edge was taken out in a stretcher on Super SmackDown after digesting the Stomp from his opponent. Earlier this year, The Rated R Superstar was heavily rumored for a move to RAW during the draft.
WWE made Drew McIntyre literally untouchable since the Royal Rumble win in 2020. He went on to defeat Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship at the main event of Wrestlemania. This led him to carry the load on Monday Night Raw during the pandemic era, moving forward.
In the entire 2020, Drew McIntyre suffered only two clean pinfall losses. The first one came at the hands of Randy Orton at Hell in a Cell and the second one came at Survivor Series against Roman Reigns in a Champion vs. Champion matchup. Fans hoped him to recapture the WWE Championship, earlier this year which wasn’t the case.
Bobby Lashley is the reigning champion on Raw who defeated Drew McIntyre on multiple occasions to retain his title. Things got worse for the Scottish Warrior in recent times as she suffered a series of losses. He was first pinned by Damian Priest in a United States Title match. Then he lost against Sheamus in a number-one contender’s match for that title.
WWE is keeping options open for Drew McIntyre
A post-match beatdown on Sheamus was delivered by him as a lot of fans thought this was a sign of a heel turn for Drew McIntyre. At this point, WWE is keeping their options open for the top Raw Superstar. Ringside News provided an update regarding him and learned that the creative team is willing to keep all the options open.
A tenured member of the creative team told the source that “all options are open” with Drew McIntyre. This includes “RAW, Smackdown. Heel, babyface.” It was explicitly noted that “Vince and Bruce may know,” the future plans but that information is not readily available internally. This means chances are there that he could be drafted to Smackdown in October, proving the speculations true.
The source also confirmed that the policy is still in place where most Superstars are unaware about their own creative direction unless the head of the creative team Bruce Prichard gives the green light to share. “It’s not an across-the-board mandate, but for the most part, yes,” a source stated that the policy is still intact. It was not noted whether Drew McIntyre has any idea about his future, either.
