TLC PPV was going to be the third last event for the year 2018. WWE had already published the PPV list for the entire calendar at the beginning of the year. It showed there would be four more events following Summerslam. One of them might be out of the card, right now.
WWE had recently visited Boston, Massachusetts for Monday Night Raw tapings. Usually, when a show concludes, the arena advertises the next WWE event enlisted on the schedule. The TLC PPV event was going to be the next in line for this arena in Boston.
Quite interestingly, TLC was no more on the list. Instead, WWE is currently advertising a super-show on the same date, i.e. 21st October. From last year onwards, WWE preponed this event from its original slot of December. Now it might lose its spot in WWE PPV programming.
This event is based on the Tables Ladder and Chairs gimmick that is favourite of the WWE Universe. At this point, it remains unclear whether WWE brings a live event or announce a PPV event on that date. Meanwhile, WrestleVotes came up with an update about this TLC PPV schedule,
“There is some reshuffling going on regarding upcoming WWE PPV events. September show in Texas remains as is. Boston date for 10/21 is now a TBD event. Survivor Series in LA remains unchanged. The Clash of Champions name is on the outs as the December date in San Jose is also TBD.”
As you can see, Hell in a Cell is intact in its original schedule in September in San Antonio, Texas. Some of the spoilers have already advertised the main event matches to take place inside this steel structure. Survivor Series retained its original schedule while Clash of Champions might also change.
The alteration of TLC PPV might have occurred due to the gigantic event that will happen in Australia just two weeks before. Currently, WWE Network is advertising this as a special super-show but not as a PPV.
If this gets introduced into the storyline process, then the chances are low that TLC will happen in 2018. Holding two special PPV shows are not likely to take place within a month. We expect to get more updates on it shortly.
