WWE: What To Expect From This Week’s Raw: July 31st, 2017

Arindam Paul / 31 July 2017

WWE Raw has started finalizing the matchups for this year’s Summerslam from last week onwards. We have already got the Universal Championship and the Raw Women’s Championship match official and hope to get some more on this week’s show. Only two shows of WWE Raw will be left after this before the dual brand PPV and so the majority of the summer feuds will be made clear.

The show will emanate from the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. One big time match and a segment have been announced for the night, last week. We will witness how WWE Creative plans them to go down.

Roman Reigns, Samoa Joe, and Braun Strowman will collide in a triple threat matchup in the main event of the night. The three contenders are all set to create ruckus inside the ring especially considering that this is going to be a no disqualification match under the triple threat rules.

Last week, the entire Raw roster was required to keep these three apart. The rivalry among these three has been brewing over the Universal title for the past few weeks and they will get a chance to reign supreme on each other. Strowman is still the favourite to win the match and gets some momentum before Summerslam.

Jason Jordan will be the guest on the Miz TV, as announced, last week. This is going to be quite interesting considering that they will be present in the hometown of Kurt Angle i.e. in Pittsburgh. Plus, the IC Champion will surely throw some jabs on the younger superstar to begin a rivalry that will result in yet another Summerslam match.

Although Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins are not on the same page, they are rumoured to be pitted for the Raw tag team title championship match following last week’s victory over the Miz-tourage. The speculations are wild of a reunion but we’re not quite sure whether they will be able to keep their differences, aside.

Bayley has become the number one contender for the Raw Women’s Championship beating Sasha Banks, last week. But, the decision has created a major backlash among the fans. Plus, a picture of Banks’ shoulder being up during referee’s count has also gone viral. So, it might turn out that the officials reverse their decision and give Banks another opportunity.

As for the other feuds go, the Hardy Boyz will continue to seek retribution against The Revival. Plus, Finn Balor will look forward to giving back Bray Wyatt the taste of his own medicine now that he’s been distracting him for two consecutive weeks.
