Brock Lesnar is one of the most polarizing figures of sports entertainment, today. Despite some of his fans being a marquee attraction, most of the WWE fans despise him. He barely shows up in WWE programming even if he is the prime championship holder in a show. WWE only books him in some of the dates all over the year to keep his status intact. But that brings the hatred out of the fans, even more.
How much WWE pays Brock Lesnar per match?
We have seen him wrestling in one last match at Survivor Series 2018. He competed against Daniel Bryan in a champion vs. champion match to pick up the victory. The next booked match for him will take place at Royal Rumble 2019 where Braun Strowman challenges him for the Universal Championship. As much as the fans would like to see him dropping the Universal Championship, it might not go down like this.
New Wrestlemania 35 plans for Brock Lesnar
The current plan is to keep Brock Lesnar in the main event of Wrestlemania 35 with the title in hand. This might have been a key thing while re-signing him with the WWE. But was Wrestlemania plans actually discussed? The answer could be a big NO as discussed by Mike Johnson in PWInsider Elite Audio.
The veteran wrestling journalist stated that Brock Lesnar may not involve in WWE’s plans for Wrestlemania 35. His contract was already over after Summerslam 2018. He continued working on appearance basis contract. Only two matches were reserved in the short-time deal except for Crown Jewel. Survivor Series has been one of them whereas Royal Rumble will be the other.
This should summon the end of Brock Lesnar in WWE programming. Even WWE has not used him on Wrestlemania 35 posters which indicates the destiny of the beast incarnate. Here’s more from the source (courtesy ringsidenews.com)
“I wonder if Brock’s gonna be with them past the Rumble because you know everyone figured Brock was out the door. Is he even factored into their WrestleMania plans? We haven’t seen him advertised or even footage of him being used to promoting WrestleMania 35. So I wonder if he’s out the door at the Rumble, but I guess that’s the allure of Brock is that ‘Is this the end of Brock’s run?’ and it turns out not to be.”
If the source is any indication then we will receive Braun Strowman as the new Universal Champion at Royal Rumble. In that case, there will be a significant change in the storylines at Wrestlemania 35. He will receive someone like Drew McIntyre in the main event match.
