WWE Rumor: Change In Planning For Potential Wrestlemania 35 Main Event
Wrestlemania is just less than three months away in WWE schedule. This is perhaps that time of the year when the WWE writers get the busiest. All the bigger storylines for an entire year are reserved so that the show feels like the biggest event of the year. One of the planned matches turns out to be the main event of matches of the year.
There have been rumors of a potential Wrestlemania main event for the next edition. This year, the event will be taking place at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Most of those speculations have hinted that we will be seeing a historic clash at the grandest stage between two of the female superstars in the WWE.
Charlotte Flair vs. Ronda Rousey is the predicted lineup for most of the fans and sources. They are bound to feature in a re-match after Charlotte giving a beatdown on the latter name at Survivor Series. Consequences also followed on WWE TLC where Ronda Rousey cost both Charlotte and Becky with their championship opportunities.
So most of the sources are hinting that it’s just a matter of moments that these two collide. This time the capacity will be much different as they will fight against each other at the showcase of immortals. Plus, we also assumed that it would eventually become the first-ever women’s main event match at Wrestlemania.
This was the original planning of Wrestlemania for a long time. But that is not true according to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter. He insisted that Charlotte Flair ‘being promised the main event of Wrestlemania 35 is NOT true’. It has surfaced a few days ago suggesting the creative even informed The Queen about her main event match.
But that might not be true as per Meltzer who offered the following, (courtesy IWNerd.com)
“Meltzer says that as of this week, the match at Wrestlemania 35 is Becky Lynch vs Ronda Rousey. A decision has not been made about whether or not this will be the main event or not.”
Fans should be very excited to see this match for a long time. It did not happen just due to the injury picked up by Becky Lynch, prior to Survivor Series.
If rearrangement is available around this match at Wrestlemania then the fans would be very happy. Currently, Becky Lynch is the hottest superstar in the WWE. So this automatically makes her the main event contender who should be gunning for the spotlight. But Charlotte Flair is still not out of the equation, fully. We can witness a triple threat match if the officials wish to include Charlotte Flair into the mix.
