As reported earlier, to fill the roster prior to the brand split, WWE is lining up some major call-ups from the NXT roster in the upcoming weeks. Smackdown will go live on air starting from July 19th on Tuesday Nights on the USA Network. As a result of the brand split, we will see Smackdown heading towards its old glorious days where it was treated in a separate way from Raw and had its separate roster and championships.
So, to treat both Raw and Smackdown in unique ways and to keep intact NXT’s glorious days WWE needs more of star power in the upcoming days and the hunt is ongoing. It will not be an easy task to maintain a full-fledged roster for both Raw and Smackdown and apart from getting new stars from the NXT brand, WWE has contacted some old veterans. The mantra now has become anyone who was part of the WWE roster earlier and still in the condition to continue, is eligible to be the part of the roster.
A report from suggests the same whereas Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that WWE is about to recruit any such former star quoting ‘anyone who was a former star and can still go’.

However, the bad news is that most of the stars are not willing to agree with WWE due to money issues. Also, the veterans approached are not willing to return because they might just end up putting over the “New Era” guys. The veterans like The Dudley Boyz have been the victim of the same concept since their return. Though no concrete information has been given but the rumor mill suggests that Goldberg and Kurt Angle is the first two, whom WWE has approached for the same. Also, it was previously reported that former Cruiserweight champion Tajiri and former tag team champion Brian Kendrick will be seen competing in the upcoming Global Cruiserweight Championship. So, they as well can land up on the main roster.
