Jul 7, 2016 at 1:14 PM
Last Monday it was revealed that Brock Lesnar’s opponent at Summerslam will be revealed to us on tonight’s episode of Smackdown. It’s needless to say that since after the announcement was made on Raw, the pro-wrestling circuit started buzzing about who is going to be the worthy dancing partner for Brock Lesnar at the biggest event of the summer.
Now, with that being said various wrestling sources have already reported that Randy Orton is going to be the next in the beast’s playground. The same was reported in cagesideseats.com as well as in allwrestlingnews.com.
The possibilities with Orton facing Lesnar is high on paper considering all the worthy opponents already booked for their respective angles except WWE does come out with a name ‘’outta nowhere’’.
Aftermath TV on SportsNet in Canada has also revealed that Randy Orton is going to be the opponent for the beast via Twitter handle.

Brock Lesnar and Randy Orton both entered WWE around the same time. Though, they have faced each other only once in their career during an episode of Smackdown in the year 2002. Orton was treated as a rookie back then whereas Lesnar headed to go on as the next “big thing” and became the youngest (25 years) world champion in history. Though, a couple of years later, it was Randy Orton who broke the record by becoming the World heavyweight Champion at an age of 24 years.
Randy Orton has been sidelined from the ring from last October 2015 due to a shoulder injury. It was previously reported, that he is being advertised to return in a live event of Hidalgo in the month of August prior to Summerslam. Numerous reports have already confirmed that Randy Orton has been medically cleared to be featured in an in-ring competition.
Brock Lesnar, on the other hand, is scheduled to fight Mark Hunt in the UFC 200 pay-per-view on July 9th and upon the conclusion of the UFC bout, he is expected to be back in WWE for Summerslam. This will mark Lesnar’s return to UFC since he departed from the company in the year 2011.
