Last year in October, Nikki Bella suffered a serious neck injury and got sidelined from WWE’s in-ring actions. Last year’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view marked Nikki Bella’s hiatus from the ring for an indefinite time. The injury eventually turned out to be a legitimate one and she had to undergo surgery at the start of this year causing her to stay away from the ring for an uncertain span of time.
The then WWE Divas champion was at the top of her game becoming the longest reigning Divas champion in the history of the company. There were a lot of speculations over her full-time due to the career-threatening injury. Though, defying all the odds Nikki Bella returned to the WWE Performance center. Now, the latest reports of RingSideNews.com suggest she is going to return by the end of September.
The previous rumors suggested that she is due to return in the Summerslam since it is the biggest event of the summer and needs more star powers to it. But, it looks like she just came up short and will not return before Summerslam.
There are a lot of issues ongoing with the former Divas champion. Her health issues are obviously concerning whereas where she will fit into the Women’s division, is also a matter of thought. Since she was not drafted while the brand split happened, she is supposed to join the Smackdown brand to add more depth to the Smackdown women’s locker room which is filled with rookie Divas.
Natalya is the only pro in the blue brand whereas Eva Marie is supposed to be the top heel for the company. With faces like Becky Lynch, Alexa Bliss, Carmella added to the women’s roster, Nikki should be used to build their character properly and also re-insert herself into the title picture.
Another reason for Nikki Bella heading towards Smackdown is his real life beau John Cena has also been drafted to the same brand. Nikki was criticized that despite her in-ring creditability, she became the longest reigning Divas champion in the history, just because she is the girlfriend of the franchise. Now, it’s for her to silent the critics by making an impactful return.
