The women division of the WWE might get to fight for another re-designed belt after Wrestlemania. This time, it will be known as the WWE women’s championship.
According to the reports coming from Diva-dirt.com, the present WWE Divas championship will be reverted back to WWE Women’s championship during the episode of Monday Night Raw, the night after Wrestlemania. The WWE Divas title is currently held by WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair’s daughter Charlotte and will be up for grabs at Wrestlemania in a Triple Threat match. Charlotte will defend the title against her former best friends Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks.
The WWE Divas title was created back in 2008 as a part of the “brand split” storyline and got unified with the WWE Women’s championship in 2010 when it was held by WWE Divas Layla and Michelle McCool. The longest reigning Divas champion in between these six years is Nikki Bella who holds the record of retaining the title for 301 days. The Women’s Championship had been in existence since 1956 when it was a part of the NWA promotion.

In current years, the present WWE Divas belt has been in controversies lately due to its design and the butterfly-centric structure in the middle of the belt. The reports also suggest that the new belt will see a new design which will resemble the retired WWE World Heavyweight Championship belt. Only, it will be smaller in size and would contain white leather strap like the Intercontinental championship.

That means we are going to see the last match of the “Diva” era at Wrestlemania 32 and the title will change hands at the event. Adding to the exciting news, Sasha Banks previously created hype declaring that her ring gear and entrance would be “pretty big” and the chances of her walking out with the title too are pretty high.
