As reported earlier, to fill the roster prior to the brand split, WWE is lining up some major call-ups from the NXT roster post-Money in the Bank scenario. Smackdown will go live on air starting from July 19th on Tuesday Nights on the USA Network. As a result of the brand split, we will see Smackdown heading towards its old glorious days where it was treated in a separate way from Raw and had its separate roster and championships.
So, to treat both Raw and Smackdown in unique ways and to keep intact NXT’s glorious days WWE needs more of star power in the upcoming days and the hunt is ongoing. As a return of the WWE Draft, the roster needs to be filled with a bunch of superstars. Whereas NXT division is supposed to be filled with younger talents from all over the world and the classic Cruiserweight championship to be held on WWE Network, the rumor mill is buzzing that apart from new call-ups, Creative is interested in bringing back some former employees.
As per the report from PWInsider.com, WWE had already started the venture of contacting the former WWE superstars to use them on the main roster. Alongside the fresh NXT call-ups, WWE is eager to re-sign these employees to use their star power after the brand split. It was earlier reported that Vince McMahon wants John Morrison back into WWE. Now, former Cruiserweight champion Tajiri and former tag team champion Brian Kendrick will be seen competing in the upcoming Global Cruiserweight Championship.
Allwrestlingnews.com reports that it is highly possible that these two former WWE employees can also be expected in the main roster in the upcoming weeks. As for the NXT talents who will be called to the main roster, they are supposed to pull-off double duties until NXT Takeover: Brooklyn around Summerslam in August. There are also some talking is ongoing between WWE and UFC and you can expect some big names around Summerslam.
