This week’s Smackdown started as the New Day came out to the arena. They cut a short promo where they talked about their recent victories over the Brawling Brutes. After that they welcomed their new friend Drew McIntyre. Drew talk about a number of things including Big E.

It was a good way to start the night off with the cool six man tag team match. It was an entertaining match overall. However there were a number of botches. Butch picked up the victory at the end for his side. He pinned Xavier Woods with his varient of Face First.
Match 2 – Jinder Mahal defeated Humberto
This match was booked for only two minutes but the only entertaining thing about this match was Shanky’s dance whose new gimmick is just being loved by the fans. Jinder did not like Shanky dancing, but Shanky could not help it. He kept on dancing at Jinder’s back. After Jinder pinned Humberto with the roll up, Shanky started dancing again. Samantha Irvin danced with her this time.
Match 3 – No. 1 Contender’s Match for WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship – Natalya defeated Shotzi, Aliyah, Shayna Baszler, Xia Li and Raquel Rodriguex in a six pack challenge
Thankfully they did not book a contender’s match where the champion had to fight herself. The match was really good, it had pace from the very beginning and it built up other feuds as well. Natalya picking up the victory was little strange.
Raquel Rodriguez dominated the most part of the match. But Natalya picked up a sneaky victory as she pinned Shotzi. It looked like that they are attempting to build up a feud between Rodriguez and Shayna Baszler. On the other hand, Shotzi and Aliyah are already having a feud.
Next they announced that Lacey Evans will be on SmackDown next week. We seriously did not get it. At first, she cut all her promos on SmackDown. Then she moved to RAW and WWE announced her return to action date on RAW. Then there was no mention of her. Now it is being announced that she will be on SmackDown next week. WWE has never seemed so clueless before.
Madcap Moss came out to the arena. He claimed that the previous Madcap Moss was dead and the fans would get to see a new version of him. He called out Happy Corbin and challenged him in a match. Corbin came out but declined to have the match. Adam Pearce appeared and made the match official.
Match 4 – Happy Corbin defeated Madcap Moss by DQ
We were expecting a match between the duo at Hell in a Cell. But now it is taking place on SmackDown. The match did not go on for very long as Moss attacked Corbin with a steel chair. As he was about to break the neck the same way Corbin broke Moss’ neck, the officials came out to stop him.
After the match, Happy Corbin what’s the leaving the arena through the backstage. He met Adam Pearce and asked him to suspend Moss. Pearce said that there was no way he was going to suspend Moss and he booked a No Holds Burred match between Corbin and Moss at Hell in a Cell. Finally, a match from SmackDown has been booked at Hell in a Cell.
Match 5 – WWE Unified Tag Team Championship – The Usos defeated Riddle and Shinsuke Nakamura to retain
The main event of the night was a good match. It was booked for around 10 minutes. The babyface side dominated the first half of the match, but then Nakamura picked up a kayfabe injury and left, Nakamura was the strongest link of his side as long as he was in the match.
After Nakamura left, Riddle put on the fight alone. At the end when he was on the driving seat, the music of Roman Reigns hit and he got distracted. Jey Uso took the advantage of the situation and pinned him with a Frog Splash to earn the victory for his side and retained the championships.
After the match, it was revealed that Sami Zayn played the music of Roman Reigns to distract Riddle. Sami came out to congratulate the Usos and Riddle attacked him. The officials had to come out to separate them as this week’s SmackDown went of air.
Overall this week SmackDown was not that bad. The matches that took place where somehow good. A match for Hell in a Cell has also been booked. But once again, without the world championship segment, episodes of RAW and Smackdown are almost meaningless. Next week can be a little interesting as the Intercontinental championship will be defended, and LA Knight aka Max Du Pri will announce the first member of his new stable Maximum Male Models. We give it 2 stars out of 5.
