With two weeks remaining for the Money in the Bank PPV, Smackdown Live came live from the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, New York. It witnessed the dream match between the United States champion, KO, and Nakamura. Also, the rematch between Styles and Ziggler took place from last week. Check out the full results from the show:
Shane McMahon opened Smackdown Live by revealing the Money in the Bank briefcase for the women’s division ladder match. The entire female roster was present inside the ring. An anonymous music started to play around the arena, as Lana appeared for the first time on Smackdown Live.
She pledged to get inserted into the upcoming ladder match or a singles competition against the champion. But, Shane declined her request upon since she has not competed on the blue brand, till date upon which she decided to leave.
Later, she showed up in between the women’s division tag team match distracting Naomi. She pulled her leg underneath the ring allowing Tamina to hit the superkick and get the pinfall.
AJ Styles squared off against Dolph Ziggler in a rematch from last week. This time, the Phenomenal One picked up the win by converting a roll up into the Styles Clash.
Jinder Mahal received a match against Mojo Rawley. The winner of the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal asked for the matchup since he was the only one to defeat Mahal on Smackdown. Shane granted it by making the match official.
The WWE champion picked up yet another win as Mahal continued his mean streak. He raked in the eyes of Mojo in order to capitalise with the Khallas and get the pinfall. Aftermath, he cut a promo to retain his championship at Money in the Bank.
The New Day competed in their first matchup after appearing on Smackdown Live. They picked up an easy win after connecting with the Midnight Hour and celebrated their victory.
In the main event, Kevin Owens featured in the dream match against Nakamura. The Artist picked up the third consecutive win over the US champion. Countering a Cannonball, he converted it into the Kinshasa to pick up the win. Baron Corbin showed up to deliver an assault on Nakamura to close the show.
