WWE Smackdown on FOX will be hosting the 2022 season premiere, tonight at the DCU Center in Worcester, Massachusetts. The night will be headlined by Roman Reigns and Logan Paul coming face to face to promote their title match showdown scheduled for Crown Jewel premium live event on November 5.
Besides that, Legado del Fantasma faction from NXT could be making their WWE main roster debut on tonight’s WWE Smackdown. According to a report by PWInsider, today, the plan is for Legado del Fantasma (Santos Escobar, Joaquin Wilde, Cruz Del Toro, and Elektra Lopez) to be part of the blue brand roster, marking their main roster debut as a unit.
It was mentioned in the report of the source that the stable could re-appear on WWE TV as soon as this Friday’s episode of WWE SmackDown. No details were provided about how the company plans to bring the former heel stable to the mainstay league, as of this writing.
In August, the leader of the faction, Escobar was banished from NXT as part of a stipulation after losing to Tony D’Angelo at NXT Heatwave. A week after this incident, Escobar picked up the rest of Legado del Fantasma members in the parking lot since he wasn’t willing to leave his buddies on NXT without them. Shortly after, Dave Meltzer also confirmed that Legado del Fantasma was slated for the main roster call-up.
LA Knight would be back on WWE Smackdown?
Another brewing story heading into this week’s WWE Smackdown is that Max Dupri is gearing up for a character refresh. He will appear on TV with his old persona.
As seen in last week’s episode, Dupri was done with his creation, the Maximum Male Models faction. This left the fans to wonder what could be next for the former NXT star. Some suggested that his previous gimmick, LA Knight would be back those are correct. The name LA Knight is already listed on WWE’s internal roster, according to a report by PWInsider.
That being said, the WWE Smackdown season premiere could be a perfect place to see the former NXT superstar back in the competition. The rest of the Maximum Male Models – Maxxine Dupri, Mace, and Mansoor will continue with their current roles.
