WWE News: Brock Lesnar Set To Appear On Smackdown’s 20th Anniversary In October
Former WWE Universal champion Brock Lesnar is all set to grace the 20th anniversary of Smackdown, an advertisement suggests. Lesnar hasn’t appeared on Smackdown since 2016 and it will be a comeback for him on the blue brand after three years.
The presence of Lesnar on the show will be one of the biggest segments. He will be the star attraction as well. WWE is leaving no stone unturned to make their Smackdown move to Fox a success and Lesnar’s addition to it is another attempt by the company to make that move one of the biggest in its history.
Lesnar is a part-time WWE superstar. After losing his title to Seth Rollins at Wrestlemania 35, he returned to Money in the Bank and won the ladder match. In July, he cashed in his Money in the Bank contract on Seth Rollins and won the title once again.
At SummerSlam on Sunday, Rollins regained the title to send Lesnar to another hiatus. It was the second consecutive time that Lesnar dropped his title to a member of The Shield at SummerSlam.
For now, is almost confirmed that Lesnar won’t be coming back to WWE and his next appearance is only expected to come on the blue brand when it moves to a totally new platform.
WWE has already announced that The Undertaker will be on the show. Apart from him, Goldberg will also make his comeback. He recently defeated Dolph Ziggler at SummerSlam.
The list of superstars who will be on the show includes Kurt Angle, Lita, Mick Foley, Booker T, Hulk Hogan, Trish Stratus, Goldberg, Jerry “The King” Lawler, Mark Henry and Ric Flair.
The Rock and US President Donal Trump could also make their respective comeback to WWE but nothing has been confirmed as of yet.
Roman Reigns, who was drafted to Smackdown after Wrestlemania, will be the face of the show on the Fox. This also means that the wildcard rule is expected to end sooner than later.
