WWE Wrestlemania 35 Results With Videos: April 7th, 2019
Wrestlemania 35 aired last night from the shadows of the New York City bringing the very best that WWE has to offer. The biggest event of the year witnessed all the championships on the line in stacked match card. Returns, farewells, careers on the line and much more were there in-store on the WWE Network exclusive show. Here are the full results from last night’s show hosted by the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New York, New Jersey.
Buddy Murphy (C) vs. Tony Nese (WWE Cruiserweight Championship)
Tony Nese attempted a superplex but Murphey came back with Superkick and then a Powerbomb for a near fall. Nese came back with a 450 slash for another near fall. Murphey countered by hitting an Olympic Slam but Nese caught him with a German Suplex into the turnbuckle and followed up with the Running Knee for the win to kick-off Wrestlemania 35.
Women’s Battle Royal
Asuka started the match with all the momentums by eliminating Maria Kanellis and Nikki Cross. She was also the one to go onto the last three standing in the ring alongside Sonya Deville and Sarah Logan. Asuka threw Deville out of the ring after which Logan eliminated her. Carmella was hiding under the ring during all this time. She came back from behind and eliminated Logan to win the 2nd annual Wrestlemania women’s battle royal.
The Revival vs. Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins (WWE Raw tag team Championship)
The match almost ended in the beginning as Hawkins suffered an almost pinfall. But Ryder came back hitting a Missile Dropkick on Wilder. Ryder continued to roll with a back body drop on Dawson. He tagged in Hawkins who hit Pelle Kick on Wilder. Hawkins was able to hit Wilder with a spear but received a Brainbuster from Scott Dawson. He looked almost senseless which is why the champs took him lightly. Hawkins with a roll-up on Wilder to pick up the win. Hawkins losing streak is over as he became new WWE Raw tag team champions with Ryder!
Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal
Braun Strowman dominated the match and eventually went on to win the match at Wrestlemania. He eliminated Michael Che and Colin Jest alongside the Hardy Boyz in the finishing moments to win the match. Another news from the match is Ali may have hurt himself while getting eliminated from the match.
Brock Lesnar (C) vs. Seth Rollins (WWE Universal Championship)
The match did not even start when Brock Lesnar hit Seth Rollins with a knee before hitting an F-5 outside the ring. He threw him on the announce table before putting him back inside the ring and connect with some German Suplexes. Rollins came up with a Low Blow followed by a Superkick. Rollins hit three back to back Curb Stomps on Lesnar to become the new Universal Champion at Wrestlemania 35.
AJ Styles vs. Randy Orton
Orton started the match at Wrestlemania by thumbing into Styles’ eyes. But Styles followed him outside with a Springboard. Styles connected with an Argentine Backbreaker. Styles was able to hit Orton with a 450 splash followed by the Calf Crusher. Orton countered with an RKO in the second attempt but Styles kicked out of it! Styles delivered a Pele Kick and reversed another RKO attempt into the Phenomenal Forearm for the victory.
The Usos vs. Ricochet & Aleister Black vs. The Bar vs. Shinsuke Nakamura & Rusev (Fatal 4-Way Match for Smackdown tag team championship match)
The fast-paced match started with Rusev stopping the high flying actions of Ricochet with a one arm slam. Cesaro caught him into the swing and locked in the Sharpshooter. Ricochet was able to pull off the 630-splash on Sheamus but everybody stopped him from getting the pinfall win. Each superstar performed their finishers on opponents but it was The Usos who hit Ricochet with a Double Superkick followed by a Double Splash to pick up the win.
Shane McMahon vs. The Miz
Shane McMahon started the match by grabbing the collar of The Miz’s dad. He took cheap shots to The Miz and started clearing the table to jump off the top rope. But Miz’s dad stopped him from doing so. Shane hit Miz’s father making The Miz angry. But Shane hit his head hard on the LED board. Miz came back attacking the knee of Shane with a steel chair. The fight continued at the outside as Miz hit Shane with a Skull Crushing Finale. The Miz hit a suplex on Shane from the top of a Scaffolding but accidentally Shane fell over Miz. He picked up the victory via pinfall at Wrestlemania despite being unconscious.
Sasha Banks and Bayley (C) vs. The IIconics vs. Divas of Doom vs. Nia Jax and Tamina (Fatal 4-way for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships)
The champions dominated the match in the early going before the IIconics proceeded to isolate Beth Phoenix. But Beth countered with a Double Suplex. Natalya entered and hit a Hart Attack. She locked in Double Sharpshooters on the champions before Nia Jax and Tamina entered. Phoenix took care of Nia Jax before Bayley hit an elbow drop followed by Sasha’s frog-splash. Beth kicked out of the moves and hit the GlamSlam on Bayley from the top rope. Peyton came from behind and tossed Beth out of the ring to pin Bayley. The IIconics have now become new women’s tag team champions at Wrestlemania.
Daniel Bryan vs. Kofi Kingston (WWE Championship)
The two men started the match with back and forth happening. Kofi took the upper hand hitting a Boom Drop on Bryan but missed a plancha on the announce table! Bryan continued punishing him with running dropkicks in the corner and locked in the Boston Crab inside the ring. Kofi dropped Bryan thrice from the top rope when Rowan tried to interfere. But Big E and Woods dropped him with the midnight hour to neutralize him. Bryan countered an SOS with LeBell Lock and followed up with Running Knee. Kofi kicked out of that and landed the Trouble in Paradise to pin Bryan and become new WWE Champion at Wrestlemania 35.
Samoa Joe (C) vs. Rey Mysterio (WWE United States Championship)
It was the quickest match of Wrestlemania 35 where Rey Mysterio caught Joe with a 619, right away. But he got caught while doing a frog splash into a Coquina Clutch from Joe and passed out. Joe retained the US title in a dominant fashion.
Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre
Roman Reigns returned to action at Wrestlemania 35 and picked up a huge win. Initially, McIntyre controlled him by countering the moves. He planted Reigns with spinebuster after Reigns missed a Drive-By on the ring apron. Reigns lifted him up and set up a Tree of Woe for McIntyre who slapped in the face of his opponent. Reigns hit a Superman Punch but received a Glasgow Kiss. He was right back with a spear on McIntyre to pick up the victory.
Elias was up next with his special performance at Wrestlemania 35. A special Bulletin message played on the screen as John Cena arrived on the scene with The Doctor of Thuganomics gimmick. He hit the Five Knuckle Shuffle on Elias and followed up with an FU aka Attitude Adjustment before leaving.
Triple H vs. Batista (No Holds Barred)
All hell broke loose during this match with a No-DQ rule attached. Triple H pulled off the nose-ring of Batista with the Pliers after attacking him with a Chain. The Game also delivered a spear through the commentary table before Batista planted him into the steel steps. Batista kicked off a Pedigree but Triple H put him down with a powerbomb into the steps. Batista connected with a DDT when Ric Flair appeared out of nowhere and handed the Sledge Hammer to Triple H. The Game hit his opponent with it and connected with a Pedigree for the victory.
Kurt Angle vs. Baron Corbin
The match started with Corbin mocking Angle’s family and receiving a Belly to Belly Suplex. But Corbin came back raking into the eyes of Angle. Corbin dominated for the entire part after this, until Angle came back with the Ankle Lock. But he countered with a Deep Six for the near fall. Angle went for a Moonsault but missed it. Corbin hit the End of Days to pick up the win.
Bobby Lashley vs. Finn Balor (Intercontinental Championship)
Balor was in full control of the match from the get-go by hitting Lashley with the Plancha over the top rope. But the Almighty came back with a Spinebuster. Lio Rush distracted Balor further after which Lashley downed him with a vicious spear. Balor countered delivering a powerbomb inside the ring and followed up with the Coup De Grace to become the new Intercontinental Champion.
Ronda Rousey (C) vs. Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair (Triple Threat for the Raw and Smackdown Women’s Championship)
Joan Jett performed Bad Reputation from Ronda Rousey whereas Charlotte got a Helicopter entrance in Wrestlemania main event. Becky and Charlotte started things up before Ronda hammered away on both of them. Becky sent her outside with a drop-kick. Becky locked in the dis-arm-her on Charlotte who came back hitting the Natural Selections on both her opponents. Ronda jumped on both her opponents for a near fall. Becky had the dis-arm-her locked in on Ronda through the ropes. Charlotte then had the Figure Eight on Ronda after neutralizing Becky. Charlotte brought in a table into the match but Becky and Ronda sent her through the tables. Ronda went for Piper’s Pit on Becky who reversed with a Crucifix pin to defeat the Rowdy One! Becky Lynch became the Raw and Smackdown women’s champion at the same time to close Wrestlemania 35.
