The talk of the pitch has been a huge factor in this edition of the Border Gavaskar Trophy. Indian management was slammed by Australian media for doctoring the pitch in Nagpur before the start of the first test and the Indore pitch started to offer spin and bounce on the first day itself and ICC gave a ‘poor’ rating to the pitch in Indore.

According to reports, BCCI is looking to challenge the decision of match referee Chris Broad decision to rate the pitch ‘poor’. The match was completed within three days and was criticized by many cricket experts stating these kinds of pitches are not good for test cricket

“We will take stock of the situation and decide,” a BCCI official said

Match referee Chris Broad said that the pitch was very dry and the Indore pitch does not provide a balance between bat and ball. The ball started to spin from the first 5 overs and the spinners were introduced in the sixth over of the 1st innings adding that they were unusual–and had low bounce throughout the match.

“The very dry pitch did not provide a balance between bat and ball, favoring spinners from the start. The fifth ball of the match broke through the pitch surface and continued to occasionally break the surface providing little or no seam movement and there was excessive and uneven bounce throughout the match,” Broad said.

The ICC rules state that a venue will be suspended from hosting any international cricket for 12 months if it accumulates five or more demerit points over a five-year rolling period.

Normal Pitch Is Prepared For The Final Test Of The Border Gavaskar Trophy

The pitch for the fourth test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy is expected to be a normal track that has scope for both bat and ball. The pitches have become a hot topic of discussion in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. According to PTI, the Gujarat pitch curators haven’t received any instructions to prepare any kind of surface and they were preparing a normal track they prepared for the Ranji Trophy matches.
