The second match of the WWE Backlash pay per view event might have been a pretty good match but also pretty predictable as well. Just like the rest of the event, anyone could easily predict who was going to win this match. Of course, it had to be Seth Rollins.
But this match was different from the rest of the matches of Omos. This was not only the longest match of his career so far. This was also the best match of his WWE career. Good to see that the Nigerian Giant is finally improving and as an over 7 foot tall man he did a pretty good job in this match.
WWE Backlash 2023 – Seth Rollins Vs. Omos – Analysis
Just like the rest of the matches of Omos, he dominated the early part of the match, but at the end of it, he lost control of himself and could not get on his feet. Rollins, just like every opponent of Omos was able to master him and managed to earn a pretty easy victory at the end.
The way the match ended, Omos looked pretty strong. He kicked out of two back to back Stomps, something that nobody ever did in WWE. Even though he lost the match it was a pretty good look for him and his future. Definitely he was going to lose, but the way he lost, it does not look like his push is over yet.
It took a total of three Stomps to pin the Nigerian Giant. He kicked out of the first two, but the last one was really Lethal as Rollins hit it from on the top rope and Omos failed to answer it. It might not have been a perfect match but definitely a good and entertaining match.
Now let us discuss why this match was predictable. There are two simple reasons. Since WrestleMania 38, Omos failed to beat all the big opponents he names so far. At first he lost to Bobby Lashley, then he lost to Braun Strowman, at WrestleMania 39 he lost to Brock Lesnar, so definitely he was not winning against Seth Rollins either.
There is another reason behind the victory of Rollins. The New World Heavyweight Championship will be count in only three weeks’ time and WWE is desperate to present Rollins as a worthy contender for the title. He had been booked pretty strongly for a last number of months and he really needed this win. So it had to be him.
