WWE Backlash 2023 pay per view event kicked off with this match. The crowd was really hot during this match and both wrestlers got excellent reactions from the fans. Everyone was expecting and excellent class from this duo since we all know what these two women are capable of. But did this match actually live up to the mark?

The match was booked for a stunning 18 minutes and it was an excellent match. The match started with a little slow pace but with time it became really engaging. This match is a little reminder of The Smackdown Women’s championship match between Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley from WrestleMania 39.

WWE Backlash 2023 – WWE RAW Women’s Championship – Bianca Belair Vs. Iyo Sky – Analysis

For the first 16 minutes the match was really excellent. There were near falls after near falls. Even though there were no kick outs of finishing maneuvers. As we all know, KOD of Bianca Belair is one of the most protected moves in WWE today. The move was still protected in this match.

After 16 minutes, Bayley and Dakota Kai made interference to help their friend Iyo Sky. The match somehow became a triple threat match where Bianca had to wrestle all three wrestlers. Dakota and Bayley kept on hitting Bianca from outside of the ring and the referee failed to notice them all.

But just like every time, Bianca went to the god mode at the end of the match at Backlash 2023 and she earned a pretty easy victory at the end. Apart from the ending of the match, it was excellent overall. Throughout the match it was really difficult for Bianca to master Iyo, but as soon as Bayley and Dakota entered, Bianca went to god mode. This part of the booking was seriously weak.

It might have been a good match but ultimately it was an extremely predictable match just like the rest of the show. If you give someone such long title reigns, you can easily predict the outcomes of their matches. Same thing happens in every case of Bianca. Iyo is a great athlete but he was not a worth the opponent for the EST of WWE at this moment.

Since both of these sides are on SmackDown now, we wonder if this storyline continues. The way WWE is overpushing Bianca, soon the fans would start hating her. Bianca’s push is getting abnormal now. The ending of this match makes it pretty clear.

We can understand that Damage CTRL’s interference was pretty much needed just two continue the right story.  How come Bianca became stronger after they entered the match? This is actually illogical, and such an excellent match was ruined by the ending of it.
