Candice Warner, wife of Australia opener David Warner, has savaged the Indian team for not applauding Steven Smith’s century in the ongoing Ranchi Test.
The buildup to the third Test of the four-match series was dominated by the DRS controversy that transpired during the Bengaluru Test when the Aussie skipper was caught seeking input from the dressing room on a DRS referral. The whole matter became only worse after India skipper Virat Kohli accused the whole team of repeating the same mistake on more than one occasions. In his defence, Smith had said it was a ‘brain-fade’ moment. Well, the pre-match conference was also dominated with questions related to the much-talked about controversy and while Kohli stood by his claims despite the ICC giving Smith a clean chit, the Aussie skipper called Kohli’s claims ‘complete rubbish’.
But Smith left all the tension and the controversy behind and scored a magnificent century in Ranchi to put his team in a commanding position. The 27-year-old has been garnering praise from all over the world for a gem of a knock but Candice is angry the Indian players did not applaud the player for his brilliant knock.
It all began when she was asked on Twitter whether the Indian team was wrong for not applauding Smith.

In reply, she tweeted:” Absolutely!! Obviously sportsmanship isn’t high on their values and means nothing to them.”

With the situation getting out of hand, Candice once again took to Twitter to clear the air.
Calm down everyone I didn't say Australia were saints either, I was just talking about one instance.
