The Australian Open 2015 Draw has been announced as Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray in the same Half. On the women’s side of things, Serena Williams faces a tough draw.
The Swiss maestro Roger Federer and British star Andy Murray, have been potted in the same quarter in what might be a re-match from last year’s Australian Open 2014 when Roger Federer defeated Murray to book his place in the semi-finals. A Roger Federer versus Rafael Nadal semi-finals is on the cards should both men make it to that stage of the tournament.
Defending champion, Stanislas Wawrinka a opens his defense of his title against Turkish player Marsel Ilhan and men’s top seed Novak Djokovic drew to face a qualifier in his opening match. Nadal takes on Russia’s Mikhail Younzhny in what could be a tricky first round tie for the Spaniard.
Over in the women’s side of things, Serena Williams seems to have a tough road to the final as Caroline Wozniacki could be her potential opponent in the quarter-finals. Should she make it to the semi-finals, Serena Williams could face two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova and should fate have it a possible dual with her sister Venus Williams is on the cards too. A potential final with former champion Maria Sharapova looms as a possible foe in the final.
