The Australian Open is the first Grand Slam of the year and players come in with great passion for the tournament. It is one of the biggest events of the year with all the heat and excitement. All players come in with hope of winning the tournament but only one gets crowned as the champion.

2014 – Stanislas Wawrinka 

Last year Wawrinka defeated Nadal in a dramatic final to get crowned the Australian Open champion for the first time and also for his first Major title. Wawrinka defeated Nadal 6-3 6-2 3-6 6-3

 

2013 – Novak Djokovic

The year recorded Novak Djokovic’s 4th Australian Open title and Andy Murray’s 3rd Australian Open final. Murray looked good for his 1st Australian Open title and de-throne Djokovic but in the end the Serb prevailed. Novak Djokovic defeated Murray 6-7 7-6 6-3 6-2

2012 – Novak Djokovic 

The 2012 version of the Australian Open final saw the two of the biggest giants up against each other looking to create history. They did create history as they played out the longest match in history of Grand Slam finals. Djokovic won his third Australian Open title. Novak Djokovic defeated Rafael Nadal 5-7 6-4 6-2 6-7 7-5 

 

2011 – Novak Djokovic 

Novak Djokovic seemed to be in full flow of the game during the finals as he defeated Murray in straight sets. Djokovic defeated Andy Murray 6-4 6-2 6-3 

2010 – Roger Federer  

Roger was in the finals for the fourth time and looking forward to win his 4th Australian Open title. This was Murray’s first Australian Open final. The Swiss Ace won the match in three sets. Roger Federer defeated Andy Murray in straight sets 6-3 6-4 7-6
