After making a remarkable comeback on the first day of the ongoing Test in Dharamsala, India needed to make a solid start on the second day to assert their authority in the final Test. Australia were 144 for 1 before the Indian bowlers staged a great comeback and bowled out the visitors for only 300.
The momentum was with India and the hosts would have wanted to make the most of it, but Murali Vijay’s dismissal early on the second day quashed India’s hopes. The India opener was clearly struggling against the accuracy of Josh Hazlewood and he finally paid the price for it by losing his wicket.
Vijay was forced to defend away from his body when the Aussie pacer bowled a back of a length delivery in the corridor of uncertainty, and the Indian batsman could only edge it to Mathew Wade. Hazlewood was pumped up after picking the wicket and even gave a send-off to the batsman . The Tamil Nadu man also gave a stare to the Australian team but did not react.
