Ind Vs Aus, 4th Test, Day 2: Twitter Reacts As Nathan Lyon Help Visitors Fight Back 1

A middle-order collapse from the Indian Team has left the final Test in Dharamsala evenly poised as India finished the second day on 248 for 6; 52 runs behind Australia’s first innings total of 300.

The hosts did not begin the day on a strong note as Murali Vijay departed after scoring only 11. On a pitch that was providing ample pace and bounce, Australia’s pace duo -Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins- kept the India openers in check with a disciplined bowling. The visitors were finally rewarded for their perseverance when Hazlewood compelled Vijay to edge one to Mathew Wade. In the very over, Australia got a chance to get rid of KL Rahul too when the India opener edged a Pat Cummins delivery straight to the slip cordon but Matt Renshaw could not grab it. Rahul and Vijay then mixed caution with aggression to help India walk into the lunch break at 64 for 1.

In the next session, India lost KL Rahul after a rare lapse in concentration saw the India opener playing a rash shot off a short delivery from Pat Cummins. Pujara and Rahane then steadied the ship by sharing a 49-run stand before Lyon dismissed Pujara and Karun Nair in quick succession after the tea-break to reduce India to 167 for 4. A 49-run stand between Rahane and R Ashwin gave the hosts a breathing space before both the batsmen were dismissed in space of five runs. Wriddhiman Saha and Ravindra Jadeja then saw off the remaining overs to help India close out the day without losing any more wicket.
