The ongoing Border-Gavaskar series has been marred with numerous sledging incidents. But fortunately, the first two days of the final Test did not see any such incidents. However, the third day brought back the horrific memories of the whole series when Matthew Wade and Ravindra Jadeja were involved in numerous verbal spats throughout the day.

With the India all-rounder playing a decisive knock, Wade tried to unsettle him with his verbal volleys. And although Jadeja did not loose his focus and played a brilliant knock of 63 runs, he made sure to give it back to the Australia wicketkeeper.

Another incident took place when Glenn Maxwell was adjudged lbw by South African umpire Marais Erasmus. The Aussie batsman reviewed the decision but it went in the favour of the hosts. And just when Maxwell was returning to the pavilion both Wade and Jadeja were involved in another round of some heated exchange of words before R Ashwin intervened and stopped it.

When Jadeja was asked about what was going on between him and Wade on the field during the post-day conference, he came up with the wittiest of replies that left everyone in splits.

“Nothing really happened. You also know, I also know that when something like this happens on the ground, what happens. We were talking that when you (Australia) lose the match, we will have dinner together,” he said.
