IPL 2017: KXIP Is Focussing On Aggressive, Brave and Carefree Style Of Cricket, Says Virender Sehwag 1

Team Kings XI Punjab’s (KXIP) head of cricket operations Virender Sehwag is hopeful that the addition players like Varun Aaron, Darren Sammy and T. Natarajan will bolster their chances of doing well in the 10th edition of IPL, which is a just a few days away.

Kings XI Punjab is easily one of the most underperforming franchise in the history of the IPL despite having valuable names at their helm.

“I am very happy to finally begin our IPL 10 campaign with the cricket camp this April. We have retained a fair amount of players from previous seasons allowing us to further grow our team chemistry.”

“The addition of new players such as Varun Aaron, T Natarajan and Darren Sammy will bring fresh ideas and skills.

“We have high hopes and expectations for IPL 10 and this cricket camp will be the stepping stone to having a successful season,” Sehwag said.

The KXIP side will get together on Sunday at the at the Holkar Stadium, where the training camp is scheduled to start under the eyes of support staff such as the assistant coach Mithun Manhas, batting coach J Arun Kumar and fielding coach R Sridhar.

Sehwag states that motive objective of the camps is to instill aggression in the players and motivate them to play fearless cricket.

“This camp will focus on developing our aggressive, brave and carefree style of cricket, while hopefully instilling pride and passion in playing for Kings XI Punjab.”

Initially, the likes of Mohit Sharma, Manan Vohra, Axar Patel, Gurkeerat Mann, Anureet Singh and other key domestic players will be a part of the camp along with international stars such as Eoin Morgan, David Miller and Matt Henry.

The hard-hitting Shaun Marsh and seam bowling all-rounder Marcus Stoinis will join later on from April 4th and 5th.
