The Spanish domestic league at the weekend produced yet another round of enthralling football as clubs from around the country were busy fighting for three crucial points. The league is entering the business end and every point becomes all the more important at both ends of the points table.
While Real Madrid managed to get past Deportivo Alaves at the weekend to keep up the gap at the top, Luis Enrique’s Barcelona put four past Granada to register a comfortable victory and to put the pressure on their Madrid counterparts.
The Bernabeu outfit are still five points clear at the top, with a game in hand but they will have to be at their best this weekend to maintain their pressure at the top of the table.
