IPL 2017;Mustafizur Rahman Confirms His Participation, Set To Join Sunrisers Ahead of Their Clash With Mumbai Indians 1

Sunrisers Hyderabad fans can finally rejoice as one of the biggest bowlers in the SRH setup – Mustafizur Rahman- confirmed his departure to India.

The Bangladesh star broke the news of his arrival through a tweet on Tuesday. This development straightforwardly means Mustafizur, who was one of the key components in Sunrisers’ title-winning campaign of 2016, will likely play against Mumbai Indians on Wednesday.

Mustafizur’s involvement in the ongoing 10th edition of the IPL was in doubts, as due to Bangladesh Cricket Board’s hesitance to give him the NOC. The hesitance had stemmed out of the injury and workload issues that have surrounded Mustafizur in recent times.

Mustafizur could not join the SRH party at the start due to international commitments. The left-arm fast bowler has just finished the highly productive tour of Sri Lanka in which Bangladesh drew level with hosts in all three formats.

The upcoming Champion Trophy, which commences after the end of the Indian Premier League, was the main talking point in the BCB. The Board felt the need to keep their strike bowler fresh and injury free ahead of the highly important multination tournament. The bowler himself had hinted at skipping the tournament with the international schedule in mind.

However, after requests from the BCCI, the BCB finally seems to have agreed.

There was still one roadblock even if Rahman secured an NOC as Bangladesh wanted its players to participate in the 10-practice camp in Sussex starting from April 26 as part of their preparations for the upcoming tri-nation series in Ireland — which involves the hosts and New Zealand.

This was also meant to be for the preparation to get accustomed to English conditions. This meant that even if Mustafizur had participated, he would have been forced to leave the tournament mid-way.

However, as per recent news, Mustafizur has been relieved from the camp and can now stay until the end of the tournament.

Mustafizur’s return will be a massive boost for the SRH side who perhaps have the best bowling attack in the IPL at the moment. He will be in the company of Barinder Sran, Ashish Nehra, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Trent Boult and the Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan.

The think may have a tough time picking the proper bowling attack considering the presence of such highly effective names, but, they wouldn’t mind having a problem of this kind.
