Delhi Daredevils star Sanju Samson struck the first century of his IPL career and also first of this season to guide Delhi Daredevils to a huge total of 205 for four against Rising Pune Supergiant.
The right-handed batsman scored 102 runs from only 63 balls before his monumental knock was ended by Adam Zampa. The stunning knock was studded with eight fours and five sixes.
After being asked to bat first, Delhi went off to a poor start, as Aditya Tare departed even before opening his account. But a 74-run stand between Sam Billings and Samson set the platform for a big score and the Delhi batsmen, led by the brilliant knock by Samson, fully capitalised on it.
Samson added another fifty stand with Rishabh Pant before the latter was brilliantly run-out by Mayank Agarwal. The Kerela batsman was finally dismissed in the 19th over when the score was 166.
Chris Morris then took the onus on himself to end the innings on a strong note and he did it brilliantly. The Protea all-rounder slammed 38 runs off only nine deliveries including 23 off the final over to help his team cross the 200-run mark.
