The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released the list of payments made by the board above Rs. 25 Lakhs during the month of January, February and March. The release shows that the payments were made to Indian team Head coach Anil Kumble, India A coach Rahul Dravid, to certain players, few state associations and also commentators.
Anil Kumble, who was appointed as the Head Coach of Indian cricket team in the month of June last year was paid an amount of 48,75,000, 4874999 and 4875000 in three instalments respectively for the services rendered.
The first instalment was paid to the head coach of Indian cricket team as a professional fee for the month of February in the year 2017. Indian team played a T20I, a Test match against Bangladesh and kicked off Test series against Australia during this period. The second instalment of 4874999 was paid for the month of January. During that period, Indian team played Limited overs series against England.
The third and the final instalment of 4875000 was paid for the services rendered in the month of December when Indian team completed its Test series against England.
Payments were also made to Rahul Dravid, the coach of India A and India Under 19. The payment of 4144737 and 18947969 was made on the same day in two instalments. Both the payments were made as a professional fee for two coaching assignments.
Apart from that, many other players including Ravichandran Ashwin, Cheteshwar Pujara, Wriddhiman Saha, KL Rahul were also paid different amounts for various assignments.
A payment of 2585625 was also made to Faiz Fazal, as a match fee for India tour to Zimbabwe and India A tour to Australia in the year 2016. Fazal made his ODI debut against Zimbabwe in third and final ODI in 2016 and was also part of India A for the tour to Australia.
Sunil Gavaskar, Ravi Shastri and L Sivaramakrishnan were also made payments during the same period for their commentary role during the long home season.
BCCI also made payments to various state associations for various reasons.
