Carrying on their dominant run over the Kings XI Punjab, the Kolkata Knight Riders enjoyed yet another outing against the men from Punjab at the Eden Gardens surface.
For the Knight Riders, getting back to winning ways was the much-needed change after the suffered a heartbreaking loss to the Mumbai Indians. In a game that was celebrated by an all-round display, the Gautam Gambhir-led outfit registered its second win in three games.
The highlight of the evening was witnessed when the hosts made a proactive move to promote spinner Sunil Narine as the opener. Narine responded in some style, as he gave his team a rousing start, racing to 37 off just 18 deliveries. Thanks to his fine start, the Knight Riders then just had a formality ahead in store.
