The Gujarat Lions have finally got off to the mark in this edition of the IPL with a thumping win over Rising Pune Supergiant in Rajkot.
For Gujarat, it seemed that for the first time where they got their playing XI spot on. The inclusion of Australian pacer Andrew Tye did wonders, as the Western Australian picked up mesmerising five wickets, which included a hat trick.
Batting wise, the Lions were powered, thanks to a blistering start from Dwayne Smith and Brendon McCullum. After being out of form for a few games, McCullum finally got back to his groove as he put on a show of attractive stroke play.
Skipper Suresh Raina chipped in with a valuable cameo as well which guided his team to victory in the end. Fans on Twitter were active throughout the game and below are some of the tweets.
