Delhi Daredevils won the toss in their second home game against Kolkata Knight Riders and decided to bat first. The decision seemed to be fair, as there are no chances of dew in the evening, hence, there was no fear of undue advantage for the other team.
There were two changes in the home side, as Mohammed Shami was given his first chance in the league. Along with him, Angelo Mathews too was given a chance in place of unwell Corey Anderson.
On the other hand, there was only one change in visiting team, as Nathan Coulter-Nile was included in place of left-arm pacer Trent Boult.
Both the teams are coming fresh from a win and will be looking to continue their winning run.
Here is what both the captains said at the toss –
Gautam Gambhir:
“We’d have bowled first as well. We’re a good chasing side. They are a good bowling side. We back our batting and our batting depth. Hopefully, we restrict them and chase it down. Every game is important. It’s always fun coming back to home. You don’t prepare in a different way. Coulter Nile comes in for Boult. We expect this to bounce a bit more and he is someone who can bowl fast and hit the deck.”
Zaheer Khan:
“We’re gonna bat first. Batting first has been working for us. We have put up runs. Hopefully, there will be little more bounce. Other night, it was dry. Hopefully, some more bounce. Two changes: Shami comes in for Nadeem. Angelo Mathews comes in for Corey as he is not well.”
