Did you have an adrenaline rush? Did you jump off your seat? Well, Monday just got better with this clinching thriller amongst the best teams (Kolkata Knight Riders & Delhi Daredevils) in this league edition.
SIX! Pandey manages that ‘ONE’ hit. Fullish delivery and Pandey lofts it over long-on. KKR need 2 of 2.
Two runs and that’s it. KKR clinch thriller by four wickets. What a match! Had everyone on the edge of their seats.
Kolkata Knight Riders beat Delhi Daredevils by four wickets to register their fourth win in 2017 Indian Premier League. Chasing a target of 169, Zaheer Khan and Pat Cummins rocked the visitors’ top-order but Yusuf Pathan and Manish Pandey then stitched together an 110-run stand to bring KKR’s innings back on track.
This is the fourth highest wicket partnership stand. Manish Pandey was at his best but the Delhi bowlers definitely lacked a bit on the crease.
Speaking after the match lets watch out what the Delhi skipper had to say about this-
On Whether Runs Were Enough:
“Evenly fought game, I felt. Yes, close to 170 was a good score I think, just little bit in terms of the fifth bowler, we were short a bit in analysing the conditions that the wicket will bounce but surprisingly it had spin. So, these are the things you really don’t have a control over and adapt with the game.”
On How The Boys Fought Till The End:
“Absolutely! Even when I threw the ball to Mishi ( Amit Mishra), the whole idea was, you know, just to get the new batsman in stress. Could have worked for us and if it doesn’t it’s fine. It was a very well-fought game.”
On The Decision Of Letting Shami or Mishra Bowl The Last One:
“I was thinking of Angelo Mathews ( laughs a bit) and last minute decision was Amit Mishra. Looking at the turn we took the chance.”
Well, hope Delhi keeps up the game and fights all way through to top in the league further.
