Chasing 131 in the ongoing match against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens, Royal Challengers Bangalore went off to the worst-possible start with their talismanic skipper was dismissed for a golden duck on the very third ball of the innings.
Looking to play a wide delivery from Nathan Coulter-Nile, the right-handed batsman could only edge it to the slip cordon where Manish Pandey took the catch after nearly making a meal of it. The ball was quite wide from Kohli but he could not resist himself from playing a drive and paid a hefty price for it.
As expected, the right-handed batsman was disappointed over throwing away his wicket cheaply and expressed his frustration by hitting his bat on his pads. But he was not done yet and was seen walking out of the ground angrily. But the reason behind it was not only his dismissal but something else which he thought played a part in his dismissal. As he was walking towards the dugout, he was seen pointing towards the crowd behind the screen. An animated Kohli was then seen speaking angrily before a match official intervened to pacify him. The ground officials were soon seen managing the crowd near the screen but the damage was done already.
