Barcelona’s Lionel Messi has created history last weekend when he managed to score 500 goals for Barcelona at just 29 years.

What a way to bring it though as he scored an outrageous winner in the El Clasico against Real Madrid to silence entire Santiago Bernabeu. The little magician had an extraordinary career that no footballer have had till date as he managed the feat in just 577 appearances for the Catalan club.

To put in numbers, he has scored against 68 different clubs and have also scored more than 10 goals against 20 different clubs which also include record 23 goals against Real Madrid.

The sensational finish in the injury time, when the score was 2-2, saw Messi celebrate in a unique fashion as he held up his shirt against Real Madrid fans and have put Barcelona on course for a tough La Liga title race in the final few weeks.

The spectacular achievement did not go unnoticed as wishes poured down across social media and the world is just in awe of the Argentine who is heads and shoulders above all the other players in the last one decade. Having made his debut in 2004 for Barcelona’s senior team and have never looked back since then as he is set to become their all time greatest player by the time he retires.

Luis Suarez was one of the first to wish his teammate after the game as he posted in Instagram quoting: ““The team was great! Everybody’s effort was SPECTACULAR ???????? With the best player in HISTORY ????? Congratulations my friend !!!!! @leomessi.””

FC Barcelona have also shared a video to pay the tribute for the legendary forward as the video will definitely bring goosebumps for  every football fan.

Here is the video:

Earlier this season, Cristiano Ronaldo had also scored his 500th club goal but the Portuguese man has achieved the feat in 31 years and 313 days old while Messi achieved the landmark in just 29 years and 304 days. The Argentine has also taken 112 appearances less than his Real Madrid nemesis to achieve the sensational milestone.

One can expect few more records to be tumbled by the Argentine by the time he retires as he is showing no signs of slowing down in the recent years.
