Bayern Munich are set to raid Atletico Madrid to sign Antoine Griezmann this summer, according to reports in Germany.

The German giants will now rival Premier League giants Manchester United as the future of the 26-year old at Madrid looks unstable with Atletico Madrid. Sport Bild claim that the German club have prioritized the signing of Griezmann this summer as they eye him as a marquee signing.

Bayern Munich are set to make massive changes to their transfer policy this summer as they are set for a squad overhaul with a number of superstars set to retire in the next couple of years. The likes of Philipp Lahm and Xabi Alonso are set to retire at the end of the ongoing season, while Frenchman Franck Ribery is looking past his peak at 34.

Meanwhile, Arjen Robben is still looking their main go to man in the big games but the Dutchman is currently 33 and the club are keen to find a potential replacement for him as well. However, the main concern would be the form of Thomas Muller who has hardly turned up for the club since the start of the season as he is in the middle of one of the poorest seasons in his career.

Bayern Munich are one of the biggest clubs in the world and are projected to become the biggest football club in financial terms by 2020 ahead of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester United. The club which is being run by fans and former stars, are set to make massive big money moves as Bild believes that they also eye Juventus’ Paulo Dybala and Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe as other options for central forward position.

It is also understood that the Bavarians are looking to sign Italian midfielder Marco Verratti from Paris Saint Germain to replace retiring Xabi Alonso next summer.

Manchester United have lost to Germans last season when they tried to sign Renato Sanchez and the German club are arguably the best in the inflated transfer market. They are known to get the players they want no matter the price and it remains to be seen if Manchester United could pull off a deal for the 26-year old amid increasing Bayern interest.
