Here’s a list of Australian players who have the distinct record of scoring 50+ Runs and 4+ Wickets in an ODI for Australia.

1. Steve Waugh (82 runs and 4/48) –

Stephen Rodger Waugh, one of the finest captains the World has ever seen taking charge of the baggy greens. This Australian captain has the record holding of 82 runs scored while batting and a beautiful spell of 4 wickets being taken in lieu of just 48 runs. It was the match against Pakistan in the Benson and Hedges Challenger Trophy. Young Steve Waugh did a lot under the then skipper Allan Border but could barely do anything to save his team from the holocaust spell of Wasim Akram.

2. Simon O’Donnell (57 runs not out and 4/36) –

Simon Patrick O’Donnell is the second Australian in the list to have scored a half century and a mesmerizing bowling spell of 4 wickets in lieu of 36 runs.

3. Mark Waugh (57 runs and 5/24) –

Mark Edward Waugh, the younger brother of the Australian ex captain Steve Waugh was a prolific batsman to have played for the baggy greens in their top middle batting order. Mark Waugh scored 57 runs and took 5 wickets for just 24 runs against West Indies in 1992/93 One Day International at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

4. Darren Lehamnn (67 runs and 4/7) –

Darren Scott Lehmann is a former Australian cricketer and the current coach of the Australian cricket team. It was never expected that any of the matches between Australia and the team supposedly representing Zimbabwe would be competitive but that competition was soon ended by the bald man Darren Lehmann who stood outstanding with both bat and ball.

5. Shane Watson (66 runs not out and 4/39) –

Shane Robert Watson, the prolific all rounder of the Australian Cricket Team. Against the ICC World’s XI and representing his motherland Australia, Shane Watson capped off a strong series with an unbeaten 66, bowling figures of 4-39 and the run-out of opener Virender Sehwag, who top-scored with 37. Watson was also awarded the man of the match, which he also received after match one, and Adam Gilchrist was named man of the series.

6. Glenn Maxwell (95 runs and 4/46) –

Glenn James Maxwell top scored with 95 runs, helping Australia recover from a poor start at the WACA ground to end on 278 for eight. He then took four wickets and a fine catch as England crumbled in the run chase to be dismissed for just 166 in 39.1 overs. Maxwell (4-46) also found himself on a hat-trick after removing Jos Buttler (17) and the hapless Chris Woakes (0), who had a match to forget, with successive deliveries.
