IPL 2017: Harsha Bhogle Probes About Rahul Tripathi, Gets A Cheeky Reply From RPS 1

Rising Pune Supergiant opener Rahul Tripathi has been an absolute revelation in the tenth edition of the Indian Premier League. Ever since being promoted as an opener in his second IPL game and Supergiant’s fourth match against Gujarat Lions, the right-handed batsman has become one of their most important players. In his very first match as an opener, he made an immediate impact, blasting 33 off just 17  balls with two sixes and three boundaries.

The Maharashtra batsman, who was bought for a base price of Rs 10 lakh in this year’s auction, instantly cemented his spot in the team by returning scores of 31, 59, 45, 38, 37 in his next five matches. A rare failure followed when he was run-out for 6 against Gujarat Lions but made amends for it with a blistering match-winning 93-run knock against Kolkata Knight Riders on Wednesday (May 3).

The 26-year tore into the Knight Rider bowling and clobbered them for seven sixes and nine fours as he scored 93 off just 52 balls to guide the Supergiant to a comfortable win.

His impressive performance in his inaugural IPL season has impressed one and all and ace commentator Harsha Bhogle is no exception. Impressed by Tripathi’s brilliant knock at the Eden Gardens, Bhogle took to Twitter to ask a humorous question.

The 55-year-old, in Marathi, tweeted: “Aho Punekar, Deccan chya kuthlya gallit lapavla hota hya Tripathi la?” which means “Hey Pune people, in which lane of Deccan had you hid Tripathi?”.

And if Bhogle was thinking his tweet would go unanswered, he was absolutely wrong as the Twitter account of RPS came up with a cheeky reply.

“Sadhya KKR che bowlers laple ahet sir!,” replied RPS which means “at the moment, the KKR bowlers are in the hiding sir!”
