After Rohit Sharma’s magnificient knock of 150, Indian bowlers made light work of Afghanistan batting as riding on some great spells from the five (Umesh Yadav, Mohammad Shami, Mohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja and R Ashwin), who are expected to feature in their opener against Pakistan, India thrashed Afghanistan by 153 runs in their second warm-up today at Adelaide.

Chasing a massive target of 365, Afghanistan got off to a quick start as their openers Javed Ahmadi and Usman Ghani added 30 runs in just 4 overs before Ahmadi lost his wicket to Umesh Yadav. Ghani then got a great support from Nawroz Mangal and the duo added 63 runs for the second wicket before Jadeja got Ghani out for the score of 44. After Ghani, no other Afghanistan batsmen got going and they scored just 118 runs in their last 30 overs and lost the match. Mohit and Jadeja took two wickets apiece. Mangal top-scored for Afghanistan with 60 runs.

In another match, Scotland annihilated Ireland by 179 runs at Sydney. After electing to bat first, Matt Machan scored run-a-ball century and along with the half-centuries from skipper Preston Mommsen and Richie Berrington, Scotland scored 296 runs in their 50 overs. In reply, Ireland got off to a good start as their openers William Porterfield and Paul Stirling put on 57 runs for the first wicket. But then wickets started to tumble and both Alasdair Evans and Majid Haq shared 7 wickets between them to bundle Ireland out for just 117 runs.
