IPL 2017: "Batting Collapses Like This Are Disappointing," Says Virat Kohli 1

In this season, everything seems to be going against Royal Challengers Bangalore, as the franchise went on to lose another game at their home ground.

It was a disappointing loss, as they had a mere target of 139 in front of them but the top order crumbled in front of Sandeep Sharma and rest of the bowlers went on to take advantage of it, to topple the RCB batting line-up on 119.

Chris Gayle disappointed the team and his fans once again, as the big man was dismissed for a duck. Virat Kohli, who showed some promise in the first few deliveries followed him soon and it was Sandeep Sharma who bagged the prize wicket of the day.

Sandeep continued his superb bowling and soon picked up the wicket of AB de Villiers as well, to catch three big fishes. It was a substandard performance from RCB’s batting line-up, which saw them losing one more game this season.

Skipper Virat Kohli wasn’t happy with the side’s batting display and said that it was a big disappointment as he said,

“It’s really disheartening; I don’t know what to say in games like these anymore. It’s happening many times now for our liking. Anything we are trying with the bat is not working, the whole squad is trying to be positive but we’re not finding a way to make a big score. Wickets are falling too quickly, I can’t pinpoint anything, we’re trying to be as positive as we can. Our preparations have been similar to what we did last year, but what matters is what you do on the field and this season has been against what we’ve wanted. We let ourselves down with the bat once again, I’ve not seen so many collapses for a team in one season. We didn’t plan anything specific against any bowler. AB smokes those balls more often than not (to the ball he got out). Sandeep bowled really well, he pitched it in the right areas. You don’t really understand what to do in times like these.
