In the latest news from Liverpool FC, it emerges that the charismatic winger Raheem Sterling is due to miss the highly anticipated match against Tottenham due to a Foot Injury. Sterling, who has been Liverpool’s best player this season suffered the injury in the 0-0 draw against local rivals Everton.

Brendan Rodgers had revealed the news of Sterling’s injury in his press conference ahead of the Tottenham match. Rodgers had told the media that Sterling had a knock on his foot and was forced to take him off during Everton’s match but he expected Sterling to be fit in time for the Tottenham match. As it emerges now, BBC Sport reports the possibility of Sterling missing the Tottenham game.

Sterling is not the only injury scare for Liverpool to deal with. Lucas Silva and Adam Lallana are set to miss out as well. Lallana who has been struggling to get fit for last 2-3 weeks is still some way off from regaining his match fitness, while Lucas is set to be out of action for at least a month.

There will be some good news for Liverpool fans heading in to the game against Spurs as Philippe Coutinho who was also forced off during the Everton game due to an ankle injury is expected to be fit ahead of the visit to White Hart Lane. Coutinho has been instrumental for Liverpool this season, providing crucial assists and scoring the all important 90th minute winner against Bolton in the FA Cup 5th round clash.

Sterling will be on the sidelines for Liverpool’s visit to Spurs and perhaps will have enough time to dwell on his new “Incredible Deal” being offered to him by the club according to Brendan Rodgers. Fans would hope, Sterling could shake off the injury and be ready for  the weekend action of the Premier League.
