IPL 2017: David Miller, Hashim Amla Leave Kings XI Punjab For England Series 1
Hashim Amla

With their season on the line, the Kings XI Punjab have suffered a huge setback, as they will have to play the remaining part of their Indian Premier League without two of their key players-Hashim Amla and David Miller.

Both the players left India to be the part of the South Africa team which will play a three-match One-Day International series along with two practice matches against England. The warm-up games will be played on the 19th and 21st of May while the series starts on 24th May.

Amla has been in sensational form this season. The right-handed batsman has set the tenth edition of the Indian Premier League on fire with his exceptional exploits with the willow, as he has become the only player to score two centuries this season so far.

He has scored 420 runs in 10 outings at a stunning average of 60 and with a strike-rate of over 145. On the other hand, David Miller has not lived up to the expectations this time around. The hard-hitting left-handed batsman has played just five games, scoring a disappointing 87 runs in total.

The duo left for South Africa on Monday (May 8), The news was revealed by Miller through an Instagram post. Sharing a photo with Amla from the flight, Miller wrote:

Until next time India.. Always a blast here. Thanks @kxipofficial family and my wingman #. #kxip #ipl10 #emirates #hometime.”

The Kings XI will, meanwhile, hope that the absence of Miller and Amla does not hurt their chances of making it to the knockout stages. With five wins in 11 matches, they are currently placed fifth on the table and need to win all their remaining three games to make it to the playoffs.
