Somehow managing to strangle the Kolkata Knight Riders on a decent deck at the PCA Stadium in Mohali, the Kings XI Punjab have managed to keep their campaign alive in the ongoing edition of the IPL. The game was a classic instance of a choke, as the Knight Riders had everything well under control for the majority of the chase, before the Kings XI spinners, backed by some terrific fielding made amends.
Earlier, the Kings scrapped their way to 167-6, mainly due to skipper Glenn Maxwell’s knock of 44. However, the true heroes for the Punjabis were their spinners as making a team of Kolkata’s calibre choke and choke miserably requires some serious skill.
