Former Real Madrid and Juventus midfielder Emerson has fuelled speculation about Paul Pogba’s move to real Madrid, by warning him not to ditch Juventus for the Champions League winners.
The 21-year-old is one of world’s brightest prospects, and is coveted by Real Madrid, who are reportedly readying a move for the Frenchman in the summer.
But Emerson, who followed a similar path by swapping the Juventus black and white for the Los Blancos, believes Pogba should not make the same mistake as he did, and insisted that the midfielder will prove himself all over again if a move to the Santiago Bernabeu does materialise.
Talking to Tuttosport, the Brazilian said,”Pogba should not make the same mistake that I made.
“You have to start all over again when you join a new team. Pogba has a special status at Juventus and has a phenomenon like Andrea Pirlo at his side. I would think twice before making the decision to leave Juventus for Madrid.
“It is not all gold that glitters at Real Madrid. Their fans are very demanding. They always expect a new player to make the difference, even more so if a transfer fee of about €100 million has been paid.
“Cristiano Ronaldo will always have the backing of the fans after everything he has achieved, but it can be hard for new players who don’t impress right away.
“Madrid are one of the best clubs in the world, but Juventus are back to their old level, too. They are dominant in Serie A and have now set their sights on European success.”
Emerson joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2006 for €16 million, winning two Serie A titles with the Bianconeri. But the combative midfielder was soon shipped off by the Spanish champions, consequently moving to Italy with Milan.

Pogba recently signed a new contract in October which will see him tied with The Old Lady until the summer of 2019. But his agent Mino Riola recently stated that his client could be on the move if the right offer comes.
The French International fuelled speculation about his future recently, by claiming that he is learning Spanish.
“I love to live every day to the fullest. When I’m not busy with the team, I like to watch television or go out with my friends, Juve full-back Patrice Evra and forward Fernando Llorente.
“It’s thanks to Llorente that I’m learning Spanish,” the 21-year-old was quoted saying by ‘Filo Diretto’ on JTV.
Along with Real Madrid, PSG are also interested in bringing Pogba back to his homeland, while former club Manchester United are also thought to have kept a close eye on the Juventus star.
