UP wizards beat Mumbai Dabangs 3-2 at Hockey India league match at the Dhyan Chand Stadium in Luck now this afternoon. It was an excellent performance by Mumbai Dabgans but UP Wizards did a great job to make the job tough for Mumbai Dabangs.

In the first quarter of the match Mumbai Dabgans began off to a good start. Mumbai played some excellent hockey in the start. Mumbai took the lead when Pillay scored an unusual goal in 10th minute. UP wizards tried some shots on Mumbai goal but did not succeed. At the end of first quarter it was 1-0 in favor of Mumbai.

At the start of the second UP Wizards started off to good note. They put pressure on Mumbai. It was an excellent performance by UP Wizards. UP wizards leveled the score at 1-1 when Nithin scored a field goal from a pass from Ragunath. At the end of second quarter it was 1-1.

The third quarter saw some excellent hockey from Mumbai. It was a aggressive hockey from Mumbai. UP Wizards also tried goals but the goalkeeping was exceptional. In 13.17 minute UP Wizards P Sreejesh saved the goal but a rebound shot and Glenn Turner scored the goal to give Mumbai a 2-1 lead. At the end of third quarter it was 2-1 in favor of Mumbai.

In the fourth quarter UP wizards played some aggressive hockey to put pressure on Mumbai. Mumbai called for a video referral, but the umpire said that there is no reason to change the decision and lost their review. UP wizards leveled the score again at 2-2 when Harjeet Singh just tapped the ball into from a pass. In the 10th minute P Sreejesh made an excellent save. In the last 38 seconds a reverse flick shot from the striker and pass to Nikhil Thiymaya gave UP wizards 3-2 win.

With this win Mumbai chances of qualifying for semi finals is gone.
